Re: Chrono Cross, Final Fantasy V and VI coming to PSN
I loved Chrono Cross back in the day. Great music and the battle system is one of my favorites from that era.

I've never actually thought the load times were all THAT bad in V and VI. Annoying, sure, but nothing that broke the game for me.
The chronicles version of IV didn't have these load issues. Wonder why...?

I *think* it had to do with HOW the game was put on the disc. Meaning, IV might've been basically a ROM that never had to access CD tracks during the gameplay. SOMETHING LIKE THAT is what I had heard from somewhere...AppleQueso wrote: The chronicles version of IV didn't have these load issues. Wonder why...?

Who knows, but that's kind of like asking why FFIV Advance is so buggy and why the music/graphics on FFVI Advance is terribad, but FFV Advance turned out perfect in every way. Just luck of the draw probably.AppleQueso wrote:I've never actually thought the load times were all THAT bad in V and VI. Annoying, sure, but nothing that broke the game for me.

Like I said, I don't see this as surprising at all. The PSP version of FFT also supposedly had major slowdowns and they didn't bother to fix that with the PSN version.Croooow! wrote:http://www.gamespot.com/ps/rpg/chronotr ... 1-60529646
According to this thread Chrono Trigger's load times are the same between the PSN and FF Chronicles versions so we're looking at the same thing for FFV and VI. That's a shame, I was looking forward to playing VI on the PSP.
Re: Chrono Cross, Final Fantasy V and VI coming to PSN
This news came out just as I finally got FF3 for the snes, so I was a little angry, but from the sound of things I'm getting the superior version. I remember playing the PS1 version as a kid and not being able to get into it at all. Load times yuk.

I assume this is basically just FF Anthologies and FF Chronicles so you could just as easily get the PS1 versions for play on PS3. Just saying.

Yeah, I'm happy to still have all the originals on the PSX, Origins, Chronicles, Anthology, 7-9, and Tactics, all black label baby.noiseredux wrote:I assume this is basically just FF Anthologies and FF Chronicles so you could just as easily get the PS1 versions for play on PS3. Just saying.

Nope. I bought the PS1 version new from Amazon last year. For some reason, Amazon still had it in stock 10 years later.Soldier Blue wrote:Y'all should download Chrono Cross
