I'll check after work hours. Any loveline conversation is probably nsfw.

These are clearly extreme examples in which no child should ever be punished. You punish to encourage a specific behaviour. "Spilling flour" is not something you can avoid, unless of course you spilled the flour because you were doing
something else you weren't supposed to.
I think Zig-Zag may have a point that's worth hearing, but he can't express it properly. This post just reads as "Spilling AP Flour is no biggie, but spilling my AP flour while spilling my dry yeast is an ass beating!". That just doesn't make sense man.
And in any case, no child should be abused. Period, even if they spill flour and yeast on the floor. Kids are kids. Kids will make mistakes. Kids (as many adults) do dumb stuff.
If I ever get to the point to where I think my child deserves punishment beyond the normal "talk to", I will take it as my fault and will take accountability for bad parenting (in the judge's case, he takes none), and I'm dead serious when I say I will call the police on my first born son before beating the snot out of him.
My parents threatened me with Military School all the time, which I actually welcomed, but they did something much, much worse. During Summers, they made me attend Math Camp.
