Super Nintendo Help please

Post by Macman »

hi ,I have a super nintendo, it is the one with the rf adapter in the back and the port for audio and video that is similar to the gamecube and n64 ports. I have connected it with a gamecube cable and when I insert a game and turn the power on, it shows the opening logos and everything and shows the games opening screen, the screen before you are asked to push any buttons, after that the screen is black and nothing happens. this seems to be happening with ny game. the last time I successfully played this system was a few years ago, if you told the system, you can hear something loose roll, like a screw, I don't think it's hardware related for the system, cause if it was I think it wouldn't even show the the starting parts, I could be wrong. I have tried cleaning the system and have tried various games to no avail. any help is appreciated, thanks.

I would clean your cartridges with isopropyl alcohol and q-tips and then clean the cartridge slot with some of that good ole canned air... if that doesn't work it most likely is a hardware problem. Hope this helps :D

I wouldn't worry about the rattling. I've taken apart many SNESes and there's often a little piece or two of broken case plastic inside. No biggie~
