Trust me, the jump is pretty large. I'd say Xbox-Xbox 360 level of jump in graphics.
What sort of system were you running it on to achieve that? I'm in the market for a new video card and bf3 is a game I'm very interested on running once I get it.
I'm not running it on anything. I have currently a netbook (getting a decent desktop in a few weeks). He, IIRC, was running it on an i5 with two GTX 570s (may have been 580s). I only got to look at it for about 15 minutes before we went bowling.

Easily.

You can have as many GPUs as your motherboard and power supply can support, but most people will never need more than two. You can run two cards in tandem - Nvidia calls it SLI and AMD calls it Crossfire, and get the bonus of running both. I do not know if this is possible with a Mac.

I had a pc with three PCI graphics cards when I use to work at a hotel simply because the hotel use to throw out pc gear all the time. I had no real reason to have six monitors hooked up, but it made for a great game of Darius. That or you can do things like this:

Has any manufacturer thought of selling fold-able triple monitors yet?

Wow, I was considering getting a single gtx560. I'm feeling some gpu envy now.

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.

Don't, a GTX 560 can be easily overclocked to GTX 570 levels.

I once spent a fortune on a PC with 4 fucking video cards in it. A few months later, it was obsolete. I learned my lesson. (>_<)
