Are playstation 1 mod chips still sold?

Post by marurun »

I ask because I have a playstation 1 that lacks the expansion port (no easy way out). Are PSX chips still made or sold? I'd like to get one and solder it in.

ill search right quick, but i think i saw them when looking for the DC modchip.

Lucky for you the playstation is just one of those systems you can find stuff for hehe. If i can find a dc modchip TODAY, i know we can find you a ps1 chip.

Good luck mate. Been down that road and had no luck at all.

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.

The modchip I installed in my fat model seemed nothing more than a basic 8 legged timing chip. I was always curious if thats all it really is. Because you can buy those at radioshack.

I shall have to poke around. I'm too lazy to check my model number, but I know I have an older-style large unit, but without the expansion port. Thanks for the info.

I have a 900x. A couple of those places have affordable chips. Too bad I don't have enough experience to install a chip. Now I'll have to hunt for someone to do the dirty work for me :)
