how did you like madworld?
More pertinent question:
Does anybody, ever, in the history of history, like Mad World?
I liked it a lot honestly. The art style was "stylish" (well, it had a rough feeling to it but it still looked nice), the soundtrack was surprisingly good (I'm not big on rap/hip-hop), the over-the-top gore was fun and the announcers were fun as well. The bosses were also a lot of fun to fight. The levels themselves were filled with creative ways to kill your enemies. I actually kind of liked the plot too but that's probably because I wasn't expecting much of anything. Really the only bad thing I can say about the game is that the camera wasn't very good. All of my other complaints would be nitpicking.

BATMAN: ARKHAM CITY - PS 3
WOW!
This is the ultimate Batman game! Perfect in every way! I had some issues with the changes to the combat system initially, but was comfortable by the end of the game. Even the new blade dodge I got used to
The ending is fantastic and will especially resonate with people who have watched the Dark Knight and Batman: Under the Red Hood as what happens as well as what is said echoes things from both of those movies
This probably is the best comic superhero game I've played. They improved every part of the game from the combat, to the stealth stuff, to the collectibles, to the bosses, to the story and just the overall epic feel of the game. Everything has been bumped up to the next level. It deserves the perfect ten scores it has received from a few reviewers
People have gotten all upset about the Catwoman passcode thing. Honestly, it's not worth bitching about. The playable Catwoman parts are certainly fun, but have almost zero bearing on the main storyline. To be perfectly honest, they almost feel tacked on. Like something added to the game at the last minute. This definitely feels like DLC and people who bought the game new should be GRATEFUL to get it for free instead of bitching and moaning about the online passcode thing like little babies. With or without the playable Catwoman content, she's a pretty minor player in the game's storyline.

Panzer Dragoon is a fairly fun game, although not as good as the first imo. In the first things got pretty hectic very quickly, but I never had problems in the second - there were far less enemies, to the point where sometimes i'd have gaps of 5 to 10 seconds where I had nothing to shoot at at all. Although the difficulty was a fairly hefty step down imo, the game was still fun, it controlled well and it kept me interested (although as before it's very short). This one adds some replay value in the form of alternate dragon forms as you level up (more powerful the better you do) and split paths through some levels, but it wasn't a big deal. Overall I enjoyed it, but I don't think it's a must buy for the system, unlike the original game.
Mario Galaxy 2 was fantastic, as expected. I'd put it on a par with the original myself, there was nothing I preferred about either one over the other. It controlled pretty well, although compared to mario 64 and sunshine sometimes felt like mario was a bit slower and the controls a tad stiffer, which I wasnt as keen on. The level variety was nice and kept things interesting, although I still think the comet levels are a cheap excuse to make you play the same missions twice over and save on development costs. Some disagree, but I liked the world map that was in this one rather than the slightly awkward hub in the original galaxy. The music in this game didn't seem as good, having some more electronicy sounding remixes of classic mario themes rather than the epc orchestral score of the first. Overall, I'd rate this one pretty high up on my mario games list, but it doesn't displace my favourites of the series. It's great, but I don't see it as the pinnacle of 3D mario games a lot of people do.
Superfrog on the Amiga CD32. Loved it and so did my kids. Having said that, the last level before the boss fight is a total bitch. There is a part at the very end where you absolutely MUST have the wings power up to pass. Conveniently enough there are 2 of them just before. However if you die the power ups do NOT regenerate. So basically you've got 2 chances (3 if you already have the wings from before) to make it through, no matter how many lives you've actually got. Hardly fair.
I've got a few I've recently purchased and beaten. Fun games all 3!
1. Chip n Dale: Rescue Rangers 2 - a lot of fun as with the first, it was pretty easy though, although i wasn't too surprised about that.
2. Snow Brothers - at least got to the credits, have a long way to go to actually master it
3. The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles - pretty fun, steep learning curve, but an enjoyable game. actually writing and planning this game as my first entry into a video review series

so I've really never spent a whole lot of time with the Alpha series. It always felt weird to me coming from SF2. Then back in December a couple of you guys explained ISMs to me, and I realized that X-ISM was close to SF2 style. Of course as a Chun-Li fan this meant losing projectile attack, but oh well. At least now I can play. Street Fighter Alpha 3 is actually fucking goood man. But perhaps the craziest part is that I beat it using the standard DC controller. How fucked up is that? Am I getting used to this stupid thing? I don't know. My hands are kind of cramped though. Sigh. At any rate -- fucking gorgeous animations and super smooth fast fighting. Plus tons of characters I wasn't familiar with. So great. I also thought the fight against Juni & Juli was incredible. I mean two enemies at once? So badass. And Bison (well Vega... I have the JPN version) was actually really intimidating. Really great stuff. Glad I played through this finally, as I had only dabbled in it lightly before.

Portal 2 was awesome. It didn't seem as hard as the original game, but I just revisited it today and I think I beat it in like an hour. Well, still fun stuff. lol
