Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I have doubts about the radiator here, so count me as there already.

Would you guys want to set a "post holiday" meetup? Sometime in January possibly?

Bumping. I'll be going by some Chinatown retro game stores soon to report on those.

This just in: Chinatown retro stores have terrible prices for retro games. The Game Champs in Brooklyn aren't very good either (except, of course, the one by my house: I've probably bought 30 games or more from them in 60 days).

Apparently the ones in Staten Island (or just one?) are/is good, but I can't verify that, and hell if I'm paying $13 toll to get over there to find out.

So.

Who's up for some gaming in January?

I'm always game. I just have to make sure somebody winds me up and throws a good wood-burning save in my chest.

Things to do in NYC (retro-game-related):

8 Bit and Up Video Games: 35 Saint Marks Place

Video Games New York: 202 E. 6th St. (a few blocks away from 8 Bit and Up)

Nintendo World Store: 10 Rockefeller Plaza

Figure we can grab some beers and play some retro arcade games at Barcade around 3 or 4, then head to my house (?) for some console games.

Barcade in Brooklyn: 388 Union Avenue

Any suggestions?
I can't join the party but a thought. I was at PlaynTrade in southern CA and the place was empty! There is a section of the store that has desks and game consoles all set up and NOBODY playing them. A real shame, but maybe ideal as Meeting place? Not sure how crowded the New York PlaynTrades are, but an option. :?

I've been to the Nintendo World, never again with that crowd.

I finally made my way down there this weekend. I really didn't see any reason to go, since all the games were taken up by kids, and who are we to take games away from kids?

Anyone else thinking about coming by in January besides dsheinem? Only a month away, now's the time to start thinking about it. I'm going to suggest either the weekend of the 20th-22nd or the 27th-29th. Any other suggestions?
