Just remembered that the Shivers PC Adventure games from Sierra scared me pretty good when I was younger but I rarely hear mention of them these days.

Though there was a lot of talk about Amnesia, nobody seemed to play the games that came before. The Penumbra games are great horror games.
Older. Not wiser.

I prefer Penumbra much more than Amnesia, they are actually scary and the monster variety is bigger.

The Thing for PS2

Picks up right where John Carpenters remake leaves off where you play as the rescue team come to investigate the research post in the film. You actually have to make smart decisions or else your teammates will lose trust in you and try and kill you or themselves. You can even perform tests on them periodically to see if they are infected, like in the film. I'd definitely pick it up if you see it laying around in some PS2 bin at a GameStop or Flea Market.
