DS Do it yourself Repair?

Post by Cerulean »

well I have a ds that turns on but theres no video or sound.

Heres a vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yYtOGth1Zyo

I was wondering if anyone of us here has had this problem and fixed it without paying nearly 100 to get it repaired.

nope. which is why im asking in the first place. I hear some people just bypass a few fuses with soldering which I can do, but I cannot tell if this is teh reason for my screens and sound not coming on.

Weird... I sure hope that doesn't happen to mine. However if you're gonna open up and start soldering I would definitely look for the video connections... of course that's probably where you would go so I am of no use!

yeah I do plan on opening her up. I hear theres some fuses that blow if some crud gets inside and gets sticky. Conna check them and clean her out. Still waiting for my triwing from dealextreme.

That sucks.

I hate it when hardware breaks... meaning when it breaks from doing nothing but just using it normally.

Only broken thing I've gotten so far is a 360, but that has made me pretty paranoid on my other consoles, afraid they will brick.
Consoles:
Atari 2600, Atari Lynx, Neo Geo AES, GB, GBP, GBC, GBA, GBA SP, GBM, DS, NES, SNES, N64, GC, Wii, PSP, PS1, PS2, PS3, Xbox, Xbox 360, Sega Master System, -Megadrive, -CD, -Saturn, -Dreamcast, -GameGear.
