My point is not that some idiocy isn't funny, I also find some of it funny. But not when it is to an extent where there is personal tragedy. I know many (if not the majority) enjoy sadistic humour, but I have noticed that for the most part I simply don't. I've had situations in movies (where it isn't even real) where the audience laughs at something on the screen and I'm left wondering what is that funny in seeing a character suffering. But hey, slapstick is even a genre.

I hated Meet the Parents/Meet the Fockers for that exact reason. I cringed when certain Friends characters did something unbelievably (and I mean that literally, that is it was unbelievable that anyone could act in such a way) stupid that in real life would have caused pain. But as I said, if we can't laugh at something so absurd, we can do nothing but weep for how we are doomed. I myself have had plenty of personal tragedy, from the loss of a parent at an early age to the death of friends from suicide or diseases I don't even want to name. I can still joke about my dead mother, though, not because I find it inherently funny, but because the only other recourse to joking would be to constantly mourn. But what good would it do to do that? Laughing evolved in our species so that we could cope, and thus the best response to tragedy would not to forever be pitiful and mournful, but to cope, to get on with our lives. So we laugh.

The guy was just posing. It isn't that hard to pretend to be dumb, and I find that much more plausible than the dude continuing following advice from that thread - AND posting about the outcome - for so long.

Indeed. If it had stopped after putting in the windows disc... maybe with about 5 pounds of salt. But the magnet thing? You'd have to be too stupid to live to go that far. If the person had their own PC that they could post to the internet from, why would they even be on their dad's PC in the first place? The only things that jump to mind are looking for porn or something set up with a subscription set to autologin. Doing some supposed 'triforce' thing on his computer doesn't even make sense. If they had said an older brother's machine or something as a joke, maybe it would slightly more believable. But still just no.

I mean, do they all enjoy perpetuating their own jokes by pretending they're real over there?

Oh yeah... memes.

Where da pictures at?

I made this recently. Capcom choose some pretty piss-poor colors for the Darkstalkers in MvC3 - and claimed that there wasn't a whole lot for them to work with. I felt it was my obligation to prove them wrong.

This is a great "caption this" picture. Sure she's adorable, but with the finger pointing I get a feeling she's saying "You're next!".
