My point is not that some idiocy isn't funny, I also find some of it funny. But not when it is to an extent where there is personal tragedy. I know many (if not the majority) enjoy sadistic humour, but I have noticed that for the most part I simply don't. I've had situations in movies (where it isn't even real) where the audience laughs at something on the screen and I'm left wondering what is that funny in seeing a character suffering. But hey, slapstick is even a genre.
