I sincerely hope you're making that up. A guy working at a game store that doesn't know about BattleToads? :?
You're presuming that knowing anything about video games is a prerequisite to working at Gamestop, or to be more charitable, knowing anything about video games older than a few months ago.

Could be worse, at least they're not as evil as Wal-Mart and charging $60 for an out of date PlayStation 2 game.

I have never seen this in my life. Especially since the MSRP of PS2 games were $50. Proof.

Rather.

I've seen them overcharge for old GCN games, but they were good games, and they were $50, not $60. This is more a sign of failure to keep up with prices of a select few games than an indication of evil.

I know that GameStop employees aren't usually the most knowledgeable, but it start hurts something inside me to have someone working at a game store not knowing about Battletoads. It's like someone working at a movie store that doesn't know what without knowing about Enter the Dragon (yes, I know that's pretty common too).

I've seen PS2 games overpriced, but I don't think I've seen one there for more than $30.

I made a recent trip to gamestop and had a few unnerving things to point out.

As I walked in, a rather large "wall" of boxes was about 4 feet from the door. It was about 3 foot high and 9 feet across. I had to walk around the "used Console" boxes that were shoved in my face. Very High pressure. took a look at ps2 games to find 250+ sleeves, most were terrible, a few broke my heart. Saw digital devil saga in a sleeve for $30.....

"I don't want that crap. I wanna preorder Battletoads."
"Um, what system is that for?"

He had fallen for it.

"How don't you know? All major systems."
"So you want a copy of Battletoads for Xbox 360?"
"Yes."
"It's not in the computer, lemme get my manager."

We had already gotten what we bought paid for at this point, so we bailed before the manager got to us. We were cracking up.
Hahaha, nice.

As I expressed on an earlier post, it drives me nuts how I'm always asked if I want to pre-order the upcoming fratboy dudebro shooter.

I have to say I was impressed one of the last times I shopped at GameStop though. I was buying Atelier Rorona and the cashier asked me if I wanted to preorder Record of Agarest War Zero. Holy shit someone paying attention to what the customer likes, what a concept!!!

I'm in the US, and he did believe it.

My friend went back earlier, and that guy asked him what was up with Battletoads.

"What do you mean, Its going to be like, the best game this gen!"
"Stop screwing around, my boss explained the joke....It was pretty funny though."

I'm going to keep using this joke until they kick me out of somewhere.
