Yeah, red phantom. And what's a min-maxer?
Basically someone who's carefully planning their stats and gear so as to maximize their effectiveness. It's an old role playing term.
Oh, OK. So one of those people that actually do the math and plan ahead to make sure they're as efficient as possible in their stat management and leveling. Yeah, that method's never worked for me. I'm more of a "learn as you do" kind of guy.

MrPopo wrote:So I know that blue phantoms can invade regardless of level (which means an invader can end up invading someone 100 levels higher), but you'd have to have some sin to be elligible for that sort of invasion. Have you ever switched convenants (remember a couple classes start in one) without first abandoning it through the NPC in the cathedral bell tower?

But yeah, the PVP is incredibly unbalanced in this game, unless you intentionally try to set up a balanced fight.
Those blue phantoms are only part of the forest convent are they not? Unless some other convent uses blue as well you will only ever encounter blue phantoms behind the sealed door in darkroot garden.

The Forest Covenant people get summoned to the garden. The Darkmoon Covenant can be summoned to Gwendolin in the same fashion, but they also get the Blue Eye Stone, which is an infinite use item that lets you invade a random person with sin (you can check sin levels in the book of the guilty from the guy in the cathedral bell tower). Unlike every other invasion item, you can use the Blue Eye Stone as a phantom. And that has you invade as a blue phantom.

Alright, so my problem with the Depths has been resolved. By ignoring they exist at all and going to the Darkroot Garden instead. Lol, it's so much easier. I assume the dev's made it an easier area because they thought most people would play online and get invaded 24/7. Welp, sorry From but I heard of your nasty tricks and played the first part of the area offline, and I'll be doing the rest the same.

But for now I'm wondering some things that i'm hoping you guys can help me out with.

Firstly, where the hell do I go next?

Second, I got some key from the top of the tower after the Butterfly boss. Whats it for?

Lastly, I'm trying to prepare for the catacombs and I'm wondering: What's the best kind of weapon to turn into a divine weapon?

You'd want a blunt weapon as your divine weapon. I can't remember what the Moonlight Butterfly key is for; it might be a door that can be unlocked by the master key. As for where to go next, if you haven't rang both bells then you need to do Blighttown and fight Quaalag.

God damn I was afraid of that.

And, yeah, I figured blunt weapons would be my best bet since they worked best on the skeletons in Demon's Souls' world 4.

Now I have to get my hands on a blunt weapon, cause I don't have any. Any good ones for this early in the game (I'm trying to do a Dex build by the way)?

So catacombs is a late game area, so you should find one soonish. There's a morning star in firelink and a reinforced club off the first merchant.

Oh really? I though I heard you have to go there right before Sen's Fortress. Whoops...

Yeah, after Blighttown is Sen's Fortress and Anor Londo, then you do the rest (catacombs, new londo, demon ruins, duke's archives).
