The Supergun Thread

Post by chupon »

I didn't look but figured there probably isn't a thread dedicated to superguns. Thought I'd try and start one since I'm in the market for one.

Anyone who's got one post your setup, model, likes and dislikes. Also I'll try and add links later to the few places these can be ordered from in the USA.

I'm almost ready to pull the trigger on the expensive model here:

Anyone ordered from there guys? Also check out the controller options for these things!

I wish I made more money, I'd love a supergun set up.

Without digging too much these obviously seem to be something to do with arcade set-ups, but what exactly is a Supergun?

A Supergun lets you play arcade games, with arcade controls, on a normal tv. They are typically setup so you can plug in any JAMMA (one of the arcade standards) board. You can however buy Superguns that are NeoGeo MVS, CPS2, or some other specific board type, if you so wish - these are typically called consolized.

Can you use a lightgun? I would love to play The House Of The Dead in it's pure, arcade glory.

Lightguns are possible, but most are not JAMMA. Meaning, Lightgun games = pain in the ass to make work
