Re: Austin, TX meet ups thread
Went to Pinz on lunch with phaedrus. They have Battletoads! This is the first time I have seen it in person. It was a pretty damned solid beat em' up. A shame this one was never ported. Much better than the console based games.
They also had another set of Sega Super GT linked up with the current cab. So you can now race 4 players. Phaedrus and I were talking about having a tournament if we could find enough people. Anyone interested?

Battletoads, eh? Interesting, I'll have to check that out sometime. I would like to try the arcade version. If I remember correctly, the NES version kicked my butt with a giant webbed foot.
I'm not a Sega Super GT master driver or anything, but I would join in on the fun if there was a tournament.

The arcade Battletoads appears to be more beat em' up oriented. It has some variety, true to its roots, but I don't think there are any insane speeder bike patterns to memorize.
Oh and heads up ATX members. I will be moving into a new place in mid December, so stand by for a moving sale/giveaway.

I haven't been to Pinz in a while. Do they have a decent selection of non-MAME'ed fighters? Killer Instinct?
Good to see they have Battletoads. I think the only place I ever saw it was at a Wal-Mart back when they still had arcade cabs in their vestibules. This was probably 10 years ago though, I think.

Wow that is sahweet, the one at Tornado Terry's doesn't have all of the art so that's pretty awesome to see! The game is fun but I could only get to the second stage (snow level?) on my first play. Not worthy!
Not really ATX related but I heard the CGX in Frisco has a 4 player Captain America.
Pinballz should get one...err do they already have it?!

hahaha that's awesome, that game is hilarious! BTW I was wrong about CGX, they have Captain America but it's only for sale. And at $800 it's basically like everything else in their store, overpriced.

The Houston Arcade Expo is this weekend. Nov. 11th and 12th. If I would have known about this earlier, I probably would have considered making a trip out to Houston to go to it. Oh well, maybe next year.
