Is it just me, or is Final Fantasy IV on PSP really easy?

If you want a hard version of FFIV, play the DS remake. That game gets nasty; currently I'm in the giant and keep getting my ass kicked by random encounters.

Xeogred summed everything up pretty well.

The PSP version is indeed the easiest version, being a nearly direct port of the GBA one. Chronicles is your best bet if you want to play it in English. The load times are a bit irritating, but the Anthology load times are inexcusable. I hear the iOS version is the best all around version, but I haven't been able to play it. Supposedly it's a version featuring the content upgrades brought in with the GBA remake, using sprites and portraits from TAY, but the ATB bug is fixed and the difficulty is back to normal.

Still, the PSP version is awesome and worth playing, not to mention worth buying for TAY alone.

Yeah, I'm still enjoying it... and it being easy sort of makes it easier for me since I'm pretty busy lately.

The game's pretty tough, though. I shelved the game for a bit because I was getting my ass kicked pretty badly, I just got the airship though, not sure where to go.

I think you have to go get the vehicle you got from Edward, pick it up, and take it somewhere. Keep in mind that i'm drawing on my memory from 5th grade soooo yeah. If the airship has a crane that comes down when you press a button then I think that is what you need to do.

That's the reason why I stopped playing the game, until my little brother randomly figured it out.. then I took the control from him and finished the game. Man older brothers suck.

The DS version is hard as hell at times. The DS version of Final Fantasy III doesn't fuck around either.

I wonder if they're planning to do a remake of ff VI game for psp using the same art style as ff iv. I like the polished 2d look.

I played ff iv, v, vi, vii, and even mystic quest (despite all the critiques, I love mystic quest because it was my first console ff, my first ff was ff adventure II on the game boy).

Are ff 1 through III worth playing through? I tried the ps1 remake of FF I, but the lack of compelling characters and story really made it hard to stay interested).

FFII and FFIII have a little more depth than FFI, but they're still mostly dungeon crawlers. Not much else to say there. I beat FFII-III earlier this year and really enjoyed them but there's not much to talk about story wise. FFII had some nice plot ideas and such that surely influenced FFIV-VI, but nothing huge.

I'd suggest Dawn of Souls for FF I and II, or the PSP versions. Or give Origins another shot.

Before playing FF II make sure you look up the leveling cheats and glitches. It's the only way to get through the game without going crazy. Seriously.

FF VI is my favorite game of all time and would LOVE to see a remake. Just scared that Square Enix would fuck it up somehow.
