Zombies come and go, just like everything else. The last time they were this big was the 70's, they're probably more noticeable right now just because every other game that comes out has SOMETHING to do with zombies.

Um, did you not see Troy, 300, or Clash of the Titans?

Troy, 300 and the new Clash of the Titans all sucked. And that burst of movies was nothing compared to the HUNDREDS of swords and sandal movies that came out in the 60's and 70's.

Admittedly, most of which sucked, too, but were at least charming enough to be forgivable...The three you mentioned tried too hard. So does the upcoming Immortals, from the looks of it, and it not only ignores mythology but it actively does the exact opposite of what mythology says

EDIT: Hell, even Gladiator is a slightly less good remake of Fall of the Roman Empire from the 60's, though I do like Gladiator quite a bit.

Speaking of Gladiator, there was also Spartacus and Rome on Starz and HBO. And there are always non-blockbuster sword and sandals movies. Several Spartacus' and Helen of Troys always seem to come out every so often.

I honestly don't think there's a huge market for it, which is sad, because they could do so much with so little.

If you last longer than the 3 episode, then hell yes. The first few episodes seemed really 300-ish, but by the end it had all the depth of Rome.
