It doesn't qualify for this list.lisalover1 wrote:I said "on the list", not "mentioned".Inazuma wrote:Shame on you for not reading all four pages.lisalover1 wrote:Shame on all of you! This thread is four pages long, and Ouendan still isn't on the list!

Surprised no one's mentioned Donkey Kong Jungle Beat yet.

I dunno, she does "dance", but I'm not sure her attacks are actually dances. Debatable, I suppose. BTW, Divine absolutely rules in the game.pakopako wrote:Still no Tekken 1/2/3 on the first post.
I still stand by Kyoshiro's (Samurai Showdown series) kabuki-dance style as dancing.pakopako wrote:What about Jun from the Tekken series who uses ballet to attack?
EddyGordo (Tekken 3)
Also, there are several Ranma games that feature Kodachi (rhythmic gymnast) or Mariko (combat cheerleading)... unfortunately only one of them was localized -- Street Combat on the SNES. (Where you control a dancing mime.)
Also, BALLZ -- yes, BALLZ -- included a ballerina named Divine.

BALLZ, dammit.
Ah, I just thought up the Dragon Warrior/Dragon Quest games. The first ones only included them as an enemy attack, specifically the Hork with its MP-stealing jigs, but later games (DW3 and beyond) you were given dance attacks yourself (as a Jester, which was done randomly, or as the Dancer class in later games)
Sure, it's done mostly in TEXT (it isn't Final Fantasy y'know) but it was there.
Also, much akin to ]Epic Battle Fantasy, musical instruments can be used as weapons throughout Scott Pilgrim vs the World and Soul Blade/Soul Edge and Soul Calibur II (some joke-weapons are musical). Ditto with SEGA's Virtua Tennis in which your can use instruments for tennis racquets.

I don't know if you want to count these but:
Diablo 2 Barbarian shouts / warcries (not necessarily what I would call music) but the build with the skill points heavily dedicated to shouts was called "Singing Barbarian", e.g. http://diablo2.diablowiki.net/Guide:Singing_Barbarian
1st English Fire Emblem (GBA) has a couple of units that sing or dance to increase defense of a friendly unit or let another friendly unit take another turn.
Lunar 1 also has Luna singing instead of having a healing (Lunar 2 is on the list already).
If Jigglypuff singing inducing sleep counts, then there's also other examples of that kind of thing such as in Sword of Mana, characters can twang strings of the Bow to use music attacks.
Ivo.

That's pretty standard for any RPGs that contain bards or dancers since, well, Bard's Tale. Though at least there the songs are more for buffs than actual attacking.Ivo wrote: 1st English Fire Emblem (GBA) has a couple of units that sing or dance to increase defense of a friendly unit or let another friendly unit take another turn.

I see Space Channel 5, but I do not see Space Channel 5 Part 2; so I will add that to the list.
I recently played through both games - which are awesome and highly recommended BTW - and my two year old daughter is obsessed with them. When I come home from work, she will point to the television and say "up down up down chu chu chu", which - besides being adorable - also makes her the coolest Dreamcast-obsessed two year old girl on the planet.
EDIT: Also, she refers to both games as "Bobot Singing", which is also adorable.
