So...do you think zombies are a fad already?

28 Days Later wasn't serious enough for you?
I'm not sure what Hobie thinks, but I hated the fact that 28 days really wasn't much of a zombie movie. There were like 4 parts that had zombies, and the rest was pretty much all boring.

I personally feel the movies are getting to far away from the survival aspect. For example, all of the George A. Movies other than Night of the Living Dead and Dawn of the Dead (Original) are too goofy and try to be 'progressive' for zombies or something. What we need is a good zombie movie, just about killing zombies and living.

Personally, I don't mind this fad, because it isn't really all that in your face like the vampire fad. But that might just be me. Plus, vampires have been ruined for me. I get vampires being seductive and stuff, but they shouldn't be super strong, super fast, and all that good looking. That's why I liked Dracula and Nosferatu, but this new stuff sucks. And werewolves? WTF happened to half human half wolf monsters that destroy people and eat them? A big wolf isn't scary, one well placed shot takes that shit out.

Maybe Zombies are a fad
I know its probably because of Halloween. Last night the History Channel ran a two hour Zombie special. It was presented in a way that seemed like factual evidence, analyzing why Zombies form mobs and are always hungry. The funniest part is the clips of which weapons for killing Zombies are the best, I see half Life Crowbar made the cut. :D

Then today I heard on the radio a Dos Equis beer commercial, you know the one about the "Stay thirsty my friends"? A mention of fighting Zombies before drinking the beer.

I got way into zombies a few years ago when I started reading the Walking Dead.

Zombies are the new vampires.

I await the day my bookstore has a "zombie" section. They already have a section labelled "vampires".

If the ultimate goal is to stake Dracula, then I'd totally play that.

Nosferatu, was an ugly one, true that. But Bela Lagosi was far from unattractive. He was the reason the second run of the stage play was so successful. The first run of the play ended early because Dracula's portrayal was too close to the book's original visage. Put Bela Lagosi in the role and BAM!, instant hit and movie role. So the 'good looking' part has really been in the medium since the beginning. And, of course, I haven't seen every Dracula-type movie, but haven't most of them had above average strength? The speed, though, I agree with. Unless they were in some sort of animal form they were pretty average in that department, but I can see how it progressed to that point.

In a surprise twist, the ultimate goal is to use the grilling mini game to cook up the perfect steak for Dracula.

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Zombies: A Book of Zombie Christmas Carols by Michael P. Spradlin

I don't think Vampires ever got to this level of silliness.

I think that's because vampires still have that sexual appeal that zombies generally don't.

Zombies come and go, just like everything else. The last time they were this big was the 70's, they're probably more noticeable right now just because every other game that comes out has SOMETHING to do with zombies.

Still waiting for swords and sandals to come back :(
