I have some very cool and big news to share about this year's auction at week's end
That should be interesting. I'm curious.
So dsheinem, since we're voting for two, does that mean we'll be splitting our donation between two different charities? Or was that done just to open up the voting a bit?

Glad I came back to see this. I might need to donate my mind to science sometime soon.

I think by 2012 we will be able to say that the Racketboy site has raised over $10,000 for charity. That's a lot of cabbage.
Didn't we hit that number last Christmas?
My scheduling skills have died of dysentery; I hope to visit at least on a monthly basis. Still, don't forget to tip your waitress.

It is just to open up the voting a bit.

No, we have raised about 7K so far in the first two years.
Partner's in Health and the Epilepsy Foundation. Not to poo poo anyone's plans, and I know many of us, myself included, know people with Alzheimer's, but not only do they get beacoups of cash, but they're very very close to curing what we can cure*. I'd rather help young, afflicted kids with epilepsy enjoy a fuller life. Don't get me wrong, they're *all* good to donate to, but as dsheinem said earlier, I think the goal is to make a difference where we can, not just be a drop in a bucket.
*My gf worked in an alzheimer's lab, so I'm not just talking out my ass here. Granted more research is needed still, but my statements above do jibe with reality.
