In his defense, I have worked at companies that have had hard rules about cussing. So much so that cussing on a video online would lead to a write up. It wasnt a religious company either, just the owner did not like cussing, or smoking.

I feel like we've had this discussion before...noiseredux wrote:because they literally were used for sneaking...Luke wrote: But yeah, why would anyone call the loudest shoes on Earth sneakers?
wikipedia wrote: Etymology
In the 1800s, a London police officer developed a rubber-soled shoe in order to catch criminals in the act quietly. He called his invention "sneakers". The name derived from the fact that the rubber soles of the shoes made them noiseless.[1] The term "sneaker" was also used in 1887 by Boston Journal of Education:[2]
“It is only the harassed schoolmaster who can fully appreciate the pertinency of the name boys give to tennis shoes — sneakers.”

Haha, well this topic is certainly going in a different direction.
I think what I really wanted to see is if there is a interest in the particular video I was creating. I have hundreds of ideas for The Hookshot (my website) and want to see what ideas need improving, which ones need scraping, and which ones I need to keep producing. Only viewers can determine that.
I'm also conscientious that I'm posting my stuff for another retro gaming site on RacketBoy - and they (the community) may not appreciate someone coming in here and advertising their site. I know I would take offense if that is all they posted.
Thanks again for the comments Luke! I welcome any more feedback on any of my stuff as well.

It wasn't the best, short, silly, but I still chuckled. Let creativity flow. Not every video off the bat needs to make Luke laugh.

Aslong as you keep it in a handful of posts, it is fine here.Hookshot_John wrote:I'm also conscientious that I'm posting my stuff for another retro gaming site on RacketBoy - and they (the community) may not appreciate someone coming in here and advertising their site. I think it had the start of something funny. It is a decent premise but it went too long, and didnt really have a big catch to it. It is something that is funny once or twice, but is not memorable. It is a two minute video that should have been done in around 45 seconds.

By the way, Dane Cook wouldn't know what funny is even if funny would set his pubes on fire...

I want to pretend I agree, but he does make me laugh. Honestly, when I'm in the mood for stand-up comics it tends to be because my brain is fried and I just want something super stupid I don't have to think too hard about.elmagicochrisg wrote: By the way, Dane Cook wouldn't know what funny is even if funny would set his pubes on fire...
