I was talking to my mom on the phone a few days ago and I'm not sure how we got on the subject of zombies but she said (this is an exact quote) "I've noticed zombies are very popular lately..."

And she's the "mom" mom type, which is still really awesome, but just not the kind that thinks about zombies often.

Well I don't really mind, but yes, I think it's a fad because I can't foresee their recent rise in popularity remaining permanent.

Really? It seemed like the number of zombies not necessarily only in media but just random people has escalated during the last couple years at least around me. It's like this huge thing around here that everyone likes zombies to be cool or be part of the "in" crowd.

Yeah, I find it annoying. It's one thing to create a zombie game, like Resident Evil. But lately there's been a lot of shoehorning zombies in for the sake of zombies. Like the DLC for Borderlands, CoD, and Red Dead Redemption. Hell, there's even a Star Wars zombie book.

I'm hoping with Disney's Chimpanzee and the revival of the POTApe movies, monkeys will replace the zombie fad that replaced the vampire fad.
