LOL. Machete, From Dusk Til Dawn and Deserado are probably my Top 3 RR movies. So yeah.

Harry Brown

Michael Caine plays the role of Harry Brown, a senior citizen and former Marine who lives his days in mostly solitude. You've seen this type of movie before; probably in the form of Mr. Charles Bronson wasting trash in Death Wish. This is definitely one of the grittiest vigilante movies I've seen and has some truly eery characters. All in all a solid effort. Caine never disappoints, but I did find there were some shallow moments.

X-Men: First Class - I thought it was awesome! I was able to unwind after a very busy weekend with this one, no complaints here.

Young Magneto is a complete bad ass! I loved the movie, too. It was so well done that I could ignore that it completely contradicted comic-book continuity, which is rare for a comic geek like me.
AppleQueso wrote:From Dusk Till Dawn - I knew pretty much nothing about this movie going in, so I was totally unprepared when the vampires showed up! Still though, it was a fun movie. Will probably watch again sometime. Truth be told though, the thing that suprised me most about it wasn't the vampires, but the fact that the bank robbery that's part of the backstory takes place in Abilene, Texas, which happens to be the city I live in.
I freaking love that movie! Total carnage, mayhem, titties; a helluva thrill-ride movie!

I'm pretty sure this has been talked about off and on for a long time now, and everything I've heard about this proposed remake has been completely terrible.

Wow. I knew this was moving along quickly, but didn't know casting decisions were already being made:

MAJOR EDIT* ATTACK THE BLOCK, probably the best movie of the year is available at Best Buy. If you haven't watched it or haven't even heard of it, don't google it. Just pick it up and if you don't like it I promise I will not not not refund your purchase price.

I do like Gary Oldman....

but it's gonna take a LOT to convince me that this will be anything other than terrible.

I said the same thing about Batman Begins. The pressure on exec-producers for a recreation of Akira is huge, and no one wants to screw this one up. This is one of those projects where you just have to keep a little faith in the people who are making the film.

Even the animated movie was only 'pretty good'. It was certainly a milestone and supposedly they drew every individual cell frame instead of looping them. However trying to condense a dozen phone book sized manga into a feature length film didn't seem to work out so great.

I'm super skeptical about that.

Not super skeptical that Akira won't be good. I mean, look at how successful Jackson was with condensing the LOTR trilogy. It's just a matter of trimming the fat (but for some reason keeping a lot of the singing).
