Does anyone know...

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Does anyone know...

Post by Randy_Marsh »

a relatively cheap way to buy empty cases for gamecube, ps2, xbox, and xbox 360 games?

with dreamcast and ps1 it's easy to find new jewel cases, but sometimes i get used games and the cases are all beat up and i don't like that. i want new cases so i can just take out the insert, disc, and manual and have it look good as new.

thanks,

marsh

The PS2, Xbox, Xbox 360 just uses the standard DVD case. so you can find it in places like Staples.

yeah, but they are different colors... i.e. xbox is dark green and 360 is light green. also, ps2 have memory card holders.

I don't know about the PS2 cases, but I've seen many Xbox/Xbox 360 cases for sale on eBay. My local K-Mart had a bunch of PS2 Jampacks for $1 each, so I bought a handful for when I need to replace cases of used games I buy.

jampacks are a good idea if i can find them for a dollar, thanks.

what about ps1 double disc games? for example my friend said he'll sell me his Chrono Cross for $13 but the case is all cracked and beat up. what are some good ways to find replacement double disc jewel cases?

If you don't care too much about the memory card thing on PS2 cases you can actually buy cases with a flippy thing in the middle for 2-4 discs
Somebody sell me a model 1 modchip for Saturn. Please.

You can use double case from you CD's music. I tend to use them to replaced my cracked PS1 games and ignore my old CD's as the digital age is upon us. Mwaahaha <----evil laugh

I've seen bulk lots of each kind on eBay I think.
Not bad prices too, IIRC

These are for 4 discs, but are the same size as the double PS1 games.

Also, if the center portion of the PS1 case is good, you can replace the clear plastic parts with the pieces of single jewel cases.

I tend to buy the Xbox cases on eBay in bulk deals (I try to pay less than $1/case). Sometimes I'll hunt for lots of new sports games and cannibalize the cases.

For PS2 cases, I hit up the bargain bins for deeply discounted, shitty titles. It doesn't matter how bad it is as long as it's only a buck or two and the case is in pristine shape. You need to be careful because there's a couple of different variations (early PS2 games were little more than standard DVD cases, then the memory card holder, then the new one w/o the holder but with a PS logo where it once was), so do a little research before swapping cases and such.

When it comes to cases for multidisc PS2 games, I hunt for cheap copies of Zone of the Enders.

Gamecube cases can be bought directly from Nintendo.
