From what I've been able to read, this is the Cheetahmen from an Action 52 proto thats had that one game isolated and put on a MMC1 cart.
So it's real, not a romhack. It's just that one game isolated on a cart. I'd rather have had the full proto reproduced.
Also in their defense, that mapper chip could be a 228 which Active was known to use in their one game for the NES.
New Cheetahmen games, other ultra-rare goodies?

So its just Cheeathmen 1 by itself? Why........would you want to spend any money on that, let alone $400+? Is it some super special bug fix version? I know that Cheethmen 2 got a bug fix overhaul recently on romhacking.org, but the only way to repro it is to use a copy of Action 52 or Cheethmen 2. Not exactly chump change.

The maker claims it's vastly different than the original. I'm going to assume this means they re-designed the game either graphics-wise for production, or perhaps this is a new game altogether.
The proto rips off a 52-in-1 pirate cart, right down to the menus. Production A52 used the weird font and Fisher-Price colors.
Perhaps it's a bigger piece of shit than the first two. Who knows.
Also, you could totally run Action 52 or any of their shitty games on a PowerPak on real hardware.

Not true.
It says it right in the manual and on the site.
"Any game with PRG or CHR larger than 512KB will not work."
and both Action 52 and Cheetahmen 2 exceed that by a good margin.
