and next up that damn over rated little white piece of poo referred to as the wii, i mean really:
1) i dont want to get off my ass and move to play a game i want R&R on my couch after work WTF is wrong with those people at kidtendo thinking i want to be active
2) the LEAST they could have done was make 1 solid controller that nun-chuck/wimote pair crap has GOT TO BE the most uncomfortable crap i have EVER held in my hands to try to play a game....its just unnatural
3) they just shit out a GC add'd a bit of ram and a few htz speed to the CPU add' them god forsaken controllers and the motion gimmick and called it good....i mean really kidtendo lets try and AT LEAST keep up with modern HD specs as well as the competitors

A lot of the libary is made of dull, boring, generic games that try and copy something better, the worst offender are shooters, there are dozen of them and not may of them match up to something like Thunder Force IV on Mega Drive or R-Type III on SNES.
You say that will admitting that you have only given a passing glance at less than 50% of the library. How NEC thought they could challange sega and nintendo in the US with those exclusives are beyond me. Don't get me wrong there are a few good games but at the end of the game that is all they are, good games, not classic games or excellent games just good games.
You don't even seem to have a handle on the HuCard selections. Then, you admit you have no idea about more than half the library. Your position is fail, because your comments indicate that you really haven't done your research. If you had, and still hold the same position, then at least you could defend yourself.I'm sure many of you would disagree with me on this but I think that as a console the appeal is limited and it lacks killer apps, the type of killer must have games that would have made people buy the console in US. Of course I am mainly talking about the Hucards, there were better games on the CD add-on I'm sure but even then they seem few and far between.

Re: Systems you don't like.
One thing I love about the TurboGrafx-16 (and CD) is that it feels "very Japanese", even with all game artwork alterations and horrible English voice acting. The system isn't flooded with crappy American movie licensed games like the 8 and 16 bit Sega/Nintendo systems. Just loads of awesome shooters and action games. At this point, I think I can say I've enjoyed every TurboGrafx game I've ever played.
And the N64 is cool, once you get past the shaky controllers and graphics. The first party games are great. Plus Ogre Battle 64 = best strategy RPG of all time!
And I can't believe the people dissing all over the NES up in here.

I'd just like to say that I like all game consoles.

Re: Systems you don't like.
My problem with the PS2 library is two fold. I'm not generally one to focus on graphics, but when a platform is marketed as superior tech and I have to deal with aliasing and super low resolution textures I can't help myself. Then I have never liked the controller or the nonsensical shape button designations.brunoafh wrote:If the PS2 library doesn't do anything for you then your tastes must be ridiculously specific. Having the hardware fail on you is one thing, but the game library is so outstanding and diverse that I don't see how any gamer can possibly dislike that console.swiftzx wrote:I don't like the ps1 library, my ps2s failed on me, and the ps3 only has a few exclusives that I really like.
While I try to enjoy a game like Soul Reaver 2, Virtua Fighter 4, Shinobi, Silpheed or Blood Will Tell I am constantly reminded that this system is supposed to be better than the Xbox, Gamecube and Dreamcast but doesn't look the part. Then when Blood Will Tell requires QTEs I have to look at the controller to figure out where Triangle and X are.
Also, I generally enjoy racing games, but the Dual Shock 2's pressure sensitive buttons just aren't as good as analog triggers I had grown accustomed since the Saturn. If I want to play a 2D game it is probably actually a 2.5D game and I have to use that "not a D-Pad" unless I break down and buy a joystick.
That's not even considering the tremendous amount of tripe and hype I have to wade through before finding a gem, that usually has me in a cynical mood before I even turn a game on.

No I never said that, I never picked random games based off the names, I went though the games one at a time A-Z, I was at it for a good 2/3 daysBreetai wrote:GigaPepsiMan wrote:Straight to the point I don't like the PC engine. If I though the PCE shooter libary was good then I wouldn't complain about it. A lot of the shooters I played felt like clones of better games, were arcade ports (whicjh I can easily play on meme), very slow paced, or just plain boring with the challange coming from how many enemies can be shoved into the screen, most of these enemines just fly onto the screen in generic patterns normally zig-zags or circules and never fire back.Breetai wrote:A lot of the libary is made of dull, boring, generic games that try and copy something better, the worst offender are shooters, there are dozen of them and not may of them match up to something like Thunder Force IV on Mega Drive or R-Type III on SNES.Another eye-roll worthy comment. The SNES has so pathetically few good shooters compared to even the MD. The MD really does not hold a handle to the PCE either. Yes, TFIV is great, but after that, there are just a few good shooters on the MD... all horis just about. Pathetically few verticals. It is clear you really have no handle on the shooter libraries on the consoles. Or you are a troll.

I've never played the Mega Drives CD games either but the MD's libary was still strong enough to provide memorable games, something that the PCE's hucard libary doesn't do anywhere near as well.Breetai wrote:You don't even seem to have a handle on the HuCard selections. Gotta admit you are very defensive when it comes to NEC.
