It's closer to Metal Slug Advance than any of the arcade titles.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:Sort of. They're much slower paced, have a lot less enemies, and you get a life bar. How do you know when a NGPC game is complete?

Say, Noise, are you going to collect US region, or Euro region? US NGPC games come in the cardboard boxes, while the Euro ones have a plastic clamshell case that looks like a mini shockbox.

I also bought my NGPC as a set. Bought it at a fleamarket five years ago for about 70 bucks with six games. From what I've seen online, supposedly there are different games that come in each blister pack.
The guy bought it and didnt like it! he sold it to me for that price, he said he paid more for it, but it was a decent price for me.
He gave me the console's box for it. But The games had no manuals for it. Just the little plastic boxes.
In the package, I got: Dark Arms Beast Buster '99, Fatal Fury F Contact, King Of Fighters R2, Metal Slug 1st Mission, Neo Turf Masters, and Samurai Shodown 2
Some time later I went to a used game store and for $20 I got both Pac-man and Sonic The Hedgehog Pocket Adventure The guy also had NGPC sets for sale too. He was selling them for 80 bucks.
Amazondotcom has some good deals on NGPC games. Last year I got some games for about 2-3 bucks each. It cost more for shipping than the games itself!
Back then I got Puzzle Link 1 and 2 and SNK vs Capcom Card Fighters Clash.
Link for you

damn I realize now that both sonic and pacman have gone down quite alot! I may have to buy some more games now!

one more thing.
The stuff from the videogame store also had no cardboard boxes.
The games I got from amazon had no cardboard boxes, just the games and the plastic cases.
The sellers said on the site that they were new but I guess not once I got them in.
But the prices were decent.

Just a heads up, Noise - and I'm not 100% sure this goes for EVERY game, but the NGPC works much like the AES in that if you play a Japanese cart on a US console, the game reads in English. I have Big Tournament Golf (aka - Neo Turf Masters in US,) and it plays completely in English on my US Pocket Color. Again, not sure if this works on every import game, but from what I've read it does!

I never knew about this. Thanks for the tip! Also, you can get the European version of an NGPC and it will play in a US NGPC. That way you can have those sexy black cases and understand the game.Rurouni_Fencer wrote:Just a heads up, Noise - and I'm not 100% sure this goes for EVERY game, but the NGPC works much like the AES in that if you play a Japanese cart on a US console, the game reads in English. Re: How do you know when a NGPC game is complete?
Nope! JPN carts on a US NGPC will not switch text language to English. If that was the case I wouldn't have gone thru the trouble to find a UK version of Last Blade after still owning the JPN version and the UK version of Falseli wouldn't SO expensive compared to it's japanese equivalent. Some game may work like that... but the majority will not.

Re: How do you know when a NGPC game is complete?
most likely I will just collect whichever version of a game I can find at a good price in a nice complete condition. I don't mind having some games in cardboard and some in plastic. And I'm certainly not aiming for a complete collection.dedalusdedalus wrote:Say, Noise, are you going to collect US region, or Euro region? Eh. Wrong. You have it backwards. The majority of games DO work like that. It's the minority that don't.CD AGES wrote:Nope! JPN carts on a US NGPC will not switch text language to English.
