I remember walking past the Metroid Prime Trilogy when it first came out. I looked it over and thought "eh, I'll get it when it comes down in price."

I once spent $280 on an 8MB stick of RAM, bringing my system up to 16MB, strictly so I could play Primal Rage with the maximum animation quality.

I got a new copy of Fire Emblem for Wii for $20 at KMart 3 weeks ago. Actually, I've found they have quite a few games there that are cheaper new than you can buy them used. You just have to look for the stuff they don't keep behind the glass.BoneSnapDeez wrote:I remember walking past the Metroid Prime Trilogy when it first came out. My friend did that. I remember it was one of the weeks leading up to Black Friday in 2009 and Best Buy had Metroid Prime Trilogy on sale for $20. I picked up a copy and told my friend about the sale, but he said he would wait until it goes down in price. Everythime we go into gamestop and he sees a used copy for $70 he gets so pissedBoneSnapDeez wrote:I remember walking past the Metroid Prime Trilogy when it first came out. I did that... but it wasn't for Primal Rage. It was with stuff like NHL '96, Terminal Velocity, Doom 2, Descent, etc. in mind. Not for... When i first got my playstation i rented resident evil. We didnt have a memory card so we kept the system on and paused it in between play time until we returned it.
When we had to return the game we popped the lid while the power is on and found out the game still works and was able to run around, unfortunately after we went to different screen the game frozed lol. Boy at that time we really did thought it would of work as long we didnt turn off the psx.

Wow, some of these stories are so painful. My condolences all around.
When I was in high school each class had to pick an alliterative theme for every Homecoming parade, such as "Fairytale Freshmen" or "Jurassic Juniors." My senior year we chose to be "The Super Mario Seniors," which was awesome. Although I had a lot of fun with it, I brought lots of materials to the decorating/painting gatherings for other students to use for reference purposes, and two things disappeared: my original Mario Bros. manual, and my copy of "How to Win at Super Mario Bros." That latter one still bothers me to this day.
Also related to that Homecoming year, I put a lot of love and care into painting a bunch of paper-mache Goombas and had dibs on one of them. Someone else intimidated me out of taking it home... just so he could jump on it and flatten it, Mario-style. If he had kept it on display in his room like I'd planned to do, I wouldn't have been so upset about losing it. But to destroy it! Waah! ;__;
