Geist Force news!

Post by Anthony817 »

I just read this over at Assembler games forums! Looks like we will have Geist here in a few weeks to 2 months!

Assembler posted:
I wound up having to send the data over by fedex
to the new place.

I got up early today and geist is the focus.

1. We will have contract for discs manufacture
a. We will have good working relationship, so we can get other items
pressed no question.
2. I will be encoding videos for people today to see, full intro and all.
a. There was some panzer dragoon files on the disc I will release as well
3. Thank you for your patience as we have made this happen!

Congratulations on the long road but we are THERE and I expect copies returned in TWO WEEKS for shipping.

For those that don't know, Geist Force is an unreleased rail shooter game like Starfox, Panzer Dragoon, and REZ for the Sega Dreamcast.

Note, the video above was takes on a PC emulator, not real Dreamcast hardware, so some problems with textures show up, but its in 1080p resolution.

Just a little while longer folks, the wait is almost over!

Never assume anything is for the worst!

I have been following this for over half a year. I told everybody at all the sites I visit I would keep you all updated, so just holding my end of the deal up.

So we get 2 new 3D games this year! Geist Force and Sturmwind! Kinda ironic they both have German words in their names and are both shooters.

Yupers! I'll check Assembler again, but I saw no mention of any Panzer Dragoon files other than him talking about it in that one line.

My copy will be in my hands soon :D

Now to go through my Dreamcasts and hope I have a launch one so I don't have to mod a newer one. Curse the stupid metal cooling fins not being used on all Dreamcasts and only the early models.

Yes, this game can overheat and crash a Dreamcast.

I'm off to find the thread and I'll post a link.

Some news on the fixed version. Seems that geist code is pre-dreamcast hardware.
It has no vmu, no rumble. It also has gigantic draw distance and more polygons than
in most dc games I have ever seen.

So having played it extensively for testing, it is possible to overload and overheat the dreamcast with geist force.

It may be necessary to add a fan to the dreamcast for this game, and for optimal
gameplay OVERCLOCK the dreamcast.

If you stop shooting during slowdown, the machine does not overheat.
Of course that means during many of the most impressive scenes you must stop playing.

NEW news!

http://assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35956

[quote=ASSEMbler]Filled in post order, from oldest to newest until copies are exhausted.

Limited to one disc per person and excludes anyone who already has
a spot in line from the fundraiser.

Post the following to reserve a spot,
failure to do so will result in you being skipped.

---------------------
I wish to join "Ghost Project" and reserve a disc (while supplies last).
I understand I am committing to donate for one commemorative
pressed disc, and failing to fulfill the commitment when prompted
will result in forfeiture of reservation. Reservation is also non-transferable.

That has not been stated yet! This just reserves a copy. There could be as many as 400 up for grabs.

I donated originally ($50) but we'll have to see what the asking price for these extras are.

When more info is available I'm sure either Anthony187 or I will update things.

Yup, he had to buy a batch of 500 to secure the deal, so that's why it is open for reservation now. When these things are gone, they are GONE!

I blogged about it earlier today but guess I forgot to update you guys here.

http://rdcproject.blogspot.com/2011/10/ ... -list.html

But, the million dollar question is this: Are they now going to hold the promised release of the game back to the public until all of the extra 400 copies are sold, or are they going to make good on their promise and release the game a month or 2 after the first 100 copies are gone that the donors of the site secured first?
