Hey, I was just wondering if it's worth buying Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance for the PS2 if you already own the standard version of Sons of Liberty?
I was just checking one of my local shop's stock on their site and it says they have the game in my branch for £10, so wondering if I should pick it up.
Any information would be nice thanks, as I have never really read much about the "Substance" versions.

Absolutely, the VR missions included are practically an entire extra game on their own.
If you have a ps3 though, it might be worth waiting until the HD collection comes out.

Re: Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance
Thanks for the reply. I don't own a PS3, nor can I see myself getting one any time soon, so will probably pick it up.
Just remembered, I remember reading ages ago when the X Box version first came out, that there was loads of stuff added to the story, with you playing far more as Snake? (memory is a little hazy here) How does the main game compare in Substance to the original?

I don't remember the specifics on that, but as AppleQueso said the amount of content for the VR Missions was insane, and they were really fun. I think I literally had like 20 hours clocked in on that alone or more.

Main game is pretty much exactly the same as the normal one. What you might be thinking of are some of the bonus mission things, many of which you can play as snake. They aren't canon though.Reprise wrote:Thanks for the reply. I don't own a PS3, nor can I see myself getting one any time soon, so will probably pick it up.

360? Because it's coming to that one as well. Too bad we won't get MGS4.

Thanks for the replies guys, it's much appeciated
And unfortunately I won't be getting a 360 any time soon either. I have a lack of space and lack of finances at this moment.

Just youtube the cutscenes and you'll mostly be good to go. You're getting Peace Walker and that's way more important!Pulsar_t wrote:360? Because it's coming to that one as well. Too bad we won't get MGS4.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
