Would you relocate for a job?
Re: Would you relocate for a job?
I would, and plan on it.

I will, probably at by the beginning of next year.
And I don't even have a job offer, I'll just move and hope for the best. It can't get any worse than it is now.

Re: Would you relocate for a job?
Hey guys, thanks for all the input. Its nice to hear perspectives from people on both sides of it.
As for me, I'm not planning on going anywhere, but there was some time last night, though it was brief, where I seriously considered it. In the end its not worth it to me, but sometimes you think "What if?" you know?
I believe it takes a lot of strength to do it though, so I commend those of you who did it with no regrets. I look at my dad, and he left Italy in the early 70s when he was couple of years younger than I am now. That wasn't just changing states, and he did it alone. But the situation was different for him too. He didn't want to leave, but he exhausted every option he had, and there just wasn't any work available.
Plus, he did it twice in the space of year and a half. When he left Italy, he first went to South Africa, and he damn near stayed there. It was family that convinced him to uproot again and come to the US.
If I were in his position, I know I'd do the same thing. But that's where the what if part comes in. If he hadn't risked it, his life now would be very, very different, and I certainly wouldn't exist today.

I agree!!Inazuma wrote:It all depends on how much money the new job would pay. Weigh your options carefully and make the best choice.
For me, I really don't want to move, but I would consider it if the pay was high enough.
