What single player FPS campaign are you playing?

So Metro 2033 has even more fantastic atmosphere than Stalker does, in my opinion. If you liked the underground segments of Stalker then Metro is that kicked in to overdrive, and the bleakest post-apoc above ground ever. And they the best job I've ever seen of making you feel how inhospitable it is.

I thought I mentioned it earlier but maybe it was in a thread elsewhere, I actually Gamefly'd it a long time ago and did not like what I played that much. I got probably an hour or two in. The atmosphere and level design wasn't as good as Stalker's interior stuff to me (not that I compared it to that at the time, but it just didn't do much for me), and unlike Stalker that doesn't hold your hand at all, I remember Metro was the total opposite and I wanted to be set free. There were always other people around and it just really ruined the potential for some good atmosphere and moments. I really liked the lonely vibe of Stalker.

But for $5 on Steam I figured I couldn't pass that up, and I do hear people say it gets better the further you get, and you're more on your own later in the game. So I'll definitely give it another shot, I mean, it took me like 3-4 times to really enjoy Stalker so why not... haha.

Started up Rage and it's good stuff so far. It made me realize though, this didn't even occur to me while playing Stalker... but wow, I liked how it had medpacks. I miss those in FPS's.

Yeah!!! The FPS genre has slowly veered away from it's arcade-ish feel. I remember just playing UT and scrambling for the health packs / shields. It adds an extra dynamic to the game. Not only did you have to shoot, you had to make decisions about trying to get the health or die.

Now that I think about it, all the FPS games I still play have Medpacks.

Awesome Steam sales going on now (as usual), but ... Stalker! Ah heck yeah, just got Call of Pripyat for like $4 or something, same with Amnesia. Definitely gonna hit these up soon.

I'm a liitle over half way through Resistance 3's campaign. I know that COD, Battlefield, and Halo get all the praise, but for my money the Killzone and Resistance games have been hands down the best FPSs of this gen, especially their single player campaigns.

I'm thinking of installing Cryostasis when I eventually get bored with BF3. I read that the last patch doesn't fix much though.

I'm playing through the original Unreal. I think it's pretty good so far. The weapons are interesting, the level design is reminiscent of older FPS games (that is, not a corridor shooter), and the graphics are incredible for 1998. The music is lame and generic, sadly.

I am another few hours into Resistance 3, and the game keeps throwing new ideas and interesting scenarios and environments at me. I also strangely care about the story and the characters, something that's not very normal for an FPS. Have any of the rest of you played this? The storytelling is excellent, and the gameplay is addictive, varied, and fun.

out of curiosity for you keyboard/mouse dudes. How does that even work? I mean, I assume the mouse is for... aiming? Yeah? So arrow keys for moving? I guess I am not quire sure even the conept... ?
