I thought I mentioned it earlier but maybe it was in a thread elsewhere, I actually Gamefly'd it a long time ago and did not like what I played that much. I got probably an hour or two in. The atmosphere and level design wasn't as good as Stalker's interior stuff to me (not that I compared it to that at the time, but it just didn't do much for me), and unlike Stalker that doesn't hold your hand at all, I remember Metro was the total opposite and I wanted to be set free. There were always other people around and it just really ruined the potential for some good atmosphere and moments. I really liked the lonely vibe of Stalker.MrPopo wrote:So Metro 2033 has even more fantastic atmosphere than Stalker does, in my opinion. If you liked the underground segments of Stalker then Metro is that kicked in to overdrive, and the bleakest post-apoc above ground ever. And they the best job I've ever seen of making you feel how inhospitable it is.
But for $5 on Steam I figured I couldn't pass that up, and I do hear people say it gets better the further you get, and you're more on your own later in the game. So I'll definitely give it another shot, I mean, it took me like 3-4 times to really enjoy Stalker so why not... haha.
