Can you tell me if it doesn't play all PS2 games or just some particular one??? Also, do both ps3 have the same updates for the system software??? I was thinking either it was a defective PS3 or there is just something wrong with the whole setup.

The PS3 article on Wikipedia (take this for what it's worth) says only the 40g is not PS2 compatible, thus the 20, 60 and 80 are all supposed to be PS2 compatible.

I tried the 20gb PS3 this morning, all PS2 games do work with the 20 and 60 as they have the PS2 hardware in them, making them heavier than the 80 which uses software emulation. Note though that all PS2 game WILL work with the 20 and 60 but alot of them with noticible flaws even though the emulation is almost perfect. All PS3's play PS1 games and the article i read was older but with all the new firmware updates all games should work perfectly on the 20 gb and 60 gb.
