The Slims are very reliable from what I've been told. For both the PS3 and the 360 for that matter.

Initial reliability would be nice. The oxbox had disk drive problems and the 360 rrods. Not a very good track record there.

Don't add to my problems by pretending my past views are still held in the present. I do not have any patience for that. Feel free to ask me what I think now.

With Smart TVs on the way, I'm really questioning the possibility of new consoles beyond Wii U. If they take off, then what's the point of gaming consoles anymore? Everything will be built into the TV.

Frankly Nintendo is the only one who has had consistent reliability in it's consoles. The PS2 had tons of issues when it was released and the early PS3s aren't exactly holding up well either.

My thoughts. I don't care. Not now. Come back to me in 5 years when all three systems are out, and each console has a bigger library of good games.
NES, SNES, PS1, N64, DC, PS2, GCN, Wii, PS3, 360, GB, GBC, GBA, GBA SP, PSP 3000, and 3DS XL

I'm not buying a new TV with Xbox 393960594 capabilities built in. Sorry. I don't need another TV just to play next gen games. Pretty simple. Right?

I will cease to play new video games at that point. I plan on keeping my HDTV for a long time. It's already 3 years old and I've had no issues with it. I don't have any plans on getting rid of my CRT either.

I don't want it either. I'm sure most of us here would agree with that. As collectors the majority of us love our physical media rather than digital media. But that's not the case with the majority of the public out there. They love everything being in one package which is why consoles have gone the way they have with Netflix, Zune, and online networks built-in. I see a strong possibility of a full-shift to Smart TVs (if they actually work as well as they advertise, I've never even used one yet).
