Can you take a pic? There are a lot of techniques depending on the type of sticker.jay_red wrote:Genesis:

The tiny corner that I tried to pull up has already claimed that part of the label, and you can see it stuck to the sticker.mjmjr25 wrote:Can you take a pic? There are a lot of techniques depending on the type of sticker.jay_red wrote:Genesis:

^ That shouldnt be too hard to get off.
The way i get that sticker off is to get a glass of water. Then apply as much water you can under and over the sticker too loosen up the glue. Leave it on for a bit until the sticker is wet to a shade of brown.
Next just start peeling and try to scrape off the unwanted sticker while reapplying water on the glue. Do it carefully so you do not scratch or nick the game official sticker.

I recommend putting rubbing alcohol (bottle should read 70%), take a q-tip and swab over the top of the sticker, you can apply more generously to the areas of sticker not touching the label, that should peel off no probs.
If there is a bit of goo left after the first round of peeling, just use your finger back and forth quickly and it should begin to ball up, and you can pluck it off.
If the label has lost its clear coat (looks ok in the pic, shouldn't be an issue) then it will be trickier and you have to recognize quickly if your taking off some of the label-color.

I wish I had seen this before I took off the sticker on my Thunder Force III...now's there a clear spot where a price tag used to be.

There are a million and one techniques, all just on what the type of sticker is, where it is, the condition of the label / paper underneath, etc.o.pwuaioc wrote:I wish I had seen this before I took off the sticker on my Thunder Force III...now's there a clear spot where a price tag used to be.
There may be a thread for this, I don't know, i'm happy to share my experiences and what I know works if there is interest.

I had the same problem with a copy of Ranger X.
I tried heating it up with a hair dryer at the time, but it didn't help.
The sticker remains as well, because it wrecked the label.

The sticker came off really easy, actually, but so did the label. It seems like it had been on there forever. And the sticker was one of those typical orange squares you see at small stores. I didn't think that it'd rip any of it off. Next time I'll definitely be more cautious.mjmjr25 wrote:There are a million and one techniques, all just on what the type of sticker is, where it is, the condition of the label / paper underneath, etc.o.pwuaioc wrote:I wish I had seen this before I took off the sticker on my Thunder Force III...now's there a clear spot where a price tag used to be.

Re: Video Game "Finds of the Day"
This is the opposite of a "find of the day" for me. I just sold Alien for 2600 for $1.25 on Ebay.
A guy emailed me after the auction saying he'd give me $5 for it, but I'm bound by Ebay's rules to sell to the winning bidder.
