I'm playing through this game right now on my PS1. I just recently bought the Greatest Hits edition. As I'm playing through it, I'm seeing stuff I don't remember from the XBox Live version. Such as creatures in the background of the forest just outside the castle. Or there's electric guitars in parts of the music that I don't remember in the XBLA version (I'm particularly recalling the part outside of the castle where there's those giant floating, glowing skulls).
But at the same time, it's been quite a while since I played the XBLA arcade version which I played when I first got my XBox 360 a couple years back. Is my memory playing tricks on me? Or are there differences like this? And if so, is that the Sega Saturn version that the XBLA version is based off of then? Or maybe they added stuff to the Greatest Hits release of the game (although I've never heard of this before).

Thanks, that explains a little. But it really doesn't mention anything about the differences in background graphics and music that I pointed out.

Not to mention the final magic attack thing is absolutely impossible to pull off on the 360 d-pad. I couldn't do it for that final achievement.

I know the Xbox version sounds HORRIBLE compared to the real deal, mainly because they had to compress it quite a bit to fit in a certain amount of space. Also, Digital Eclipse did the emulation and they are horrible, in my opinion. The PSN version does not seem to suffer from this.

What about the Konami Classics vol 1 version, how does that compare?
If you can see the future while remembering the past, you may just have control of the present.

Wikipedia wrote:(Castlevania: Symphony of the Night) was the first Xbox Live Arcade title to exceed the 50 MB restriction placed upon Xbox Live Arcade games (The limit has since been increased to 2 GB).
