Point taken, lol. I did look up some of the other endings and they looked pretty damn bad, like "that was not worth it" bad, haha.

The ending I did get felt a little Deus Ex-ish.

Dude, I didn't think any of the Stalker endings were all that great. Deus Ex is like my favorite post 16-bit era game but I have no problem saying that game and both IW/HR had very awkward weird endings as well. I like how they're all generally bleak and not "good" though, which is what I got out of watching most of Stalker's endings. But yeah, they just all feel a bit anti-climatic to me in a sense and just seemed... okay. Honestly the endings in most games like this, Fallout NV, System Shock 2 to an extent even, etc, give me that weird feeling. Amazing games that I love, but endings are just kind of whatev.

Anyways, what do you guys think...

Other than that I have a quad core 2.5 (Q8300), 6GB DDR2, Win7 and other goodness. I'm really tempted to get CoP soon, or maybe wait it out a little to see if there will be a Steam sale. Looks like I could maybe pull it off with medium settings which would probably work for me. Getting a better PC in the future would be a great excuse to replay these, as I'm already planning on that when I can play Stalker with Complete/LURK. heh

There are two classes of Stalker endings. The first are the bad endings, where you don't get the decoder and fall victim to your own hubris. The second are the two endings unlocked after getting the decoder. And yeah, neither are going to nice happy endings. But it makes sense, when you consider that the world isn't going to magically repair itself overnight based on your actions. I think the reason these endings seem disappointing is that we're very used to storylines where when you defeat the big bad all the evil stuff he's done magically goes away. With Stalker, DX, Fallout, the world is still in a rotten state, but now the big bad isn't around anymore to make it worse.

As for CoP, if you think you'd rather wait for it to be on sale then you'll probably be waiting until mid-December to play it.

Admittedly I borrowed Rage (360) from a friend and bought Metro 2033 off Steam when it was $5, guess those could keep me busy until then. And I need to get back to Portal 2. I'll probably hit up Rage next.

I recommend a GTX 550 Ti if you can afford one.

No can do for now actually, I've got a slim tower so I had to go with the ATI Radeon HD 5570 (low profile card) which was one of the best I could find a year ago or whenever I bought it. My PSU is pretty low too so that was kind of a concern as well. Honestly though my PC is pretty good outside of the graphics card, so... instead of buying a whole new rig I think maybe I should just consider getting a new tower sometime, then probably a new motherboard, PSU, graphics card, and then just transfer everything over. The disc eject button doesn't even really work either.

Started up Rage and it's good stuff so far. It made me realize though, this didn't even occur to me while playing Stalker... but wow, I liked how it had medpacks. I miss those in FPS's.

So Metro 2033 has even more fantastic atmosphere than Stalker does, in my opinion. If you liked the underground segments of Stalker then Metro is that kicked in to overdrive, and the bleakest post-apoc above ground ever. And they the best job I've ever seen of making you feel how inhospitable it is.

One of the best bits about Metro was how characters' feet actually connected with ladder steps, an effect missing in most games
