He's a slam poet/white rapper. And damn good.

What he's most famous for (he's Shakespeare):

And two sets he did at the show:

Gaming accomplishments:
Nibbler (marathon): 251,169,160 / Nibbler (one life): 5,263,360 (WR)
Donkey Kong: 423,100 [L12-1] (150th place as of 2019-01-15)
Super Smash Bros. (N64): Ranked top 5 in Wisconsin from Q1 2016 to Q2 2017
Shrek SuperSlam: won largest tournament in game's history (Shrekfest 2018)

Luke wrote:Well, just shoot for a career, not a job. I know that's cliche, but God is it true. Take the lower paying job if you think you will enjoy it more, especially and pantyliner (I misspelled pertinently but I have to leave that spelling suggestion the way it is) a career you can see yourself excelling in.

Best of luck man, and talk to friends and family about your choice. Either way it's great to hear you're taking this all seriously.
Yeah, gonna talk to my dad about it tonight. We usually butt heads about a lot of stuff and I think he gets really annoying when we're talking jobs and such, but oh well. lol

I don't think CVS would be the ideal career, but I also see what you mean and agree for the most part, that's the kind of mindset I've had for awhile now. Up to now I've only got like 5 years of work experience, and I've made the silly mistake twice in the past in quitting jobs to go back to school while not working, like last year. I went all three semesters, but I wasn't even full time in the summer or anything, and I really could have worked a part time job at least while bringing in some money through the whole year. I've been paying the price since then for sure, heh. Lesson learned.

Just turned 24 now though and I still get that feeling I'm a bit behind in school, but also not... like I personally believe it's absolutely no race. I had a really hard time right out of high school about it with all the pressure from friends and extended family (I say that because my parents are both uneducated, they pushed me into it but not aggressively like others). 2010 was a good year of college for me though and I'm just seeing a lot more things I could get into with the research and things I've done since. The pressure really isn't there anymore and that's good.

In 2009 I kind of settled and didn't do much outside of working full time at this warehouse job, I tried taking up some night classes but just had no energy to keep up with them and dropped everything I think I attempted throughout that year. I had some friends I worked with as well and on the weekends if we got together, everyone was just dead. So much overtime and crap. Another reason why I think pharmacy tech work or whatnot would be something I could do while savoring some energy for more than just working and doing nothing else, I just don't want to settle and do that anymore. Time to make life more interesting.

Kind of just rambling here, but basically my idea now would to just be constantly working and this CVS job would be perfect with the pay and all, and since it's not as general labor intensive as my previous work experiences, I would like to get back to school and take up some night classes possibly next year and just keep continuing my education. I don't say this in spite of them, but I do want to surpass my parents, to make them and myself proud. At the very least I want to keep going for some associates since I've put a good dent of credits into that so far over the years, then maybe get some certifications along the way if I go into more technical/computer stuff. Maybe down the road I'll have an idea for a BA or something. Who knows.

So that is my long terms plans I'm thinking now. Get a stable full time job that I can stick with for years while continuing my education on the side, and in the future maybe some other doors will open up. I'm just ready for change, heh.
gtmtnbiker wrote:Yes, this is a good plan. Worse case, you can always quit the job after being on for a couple of weeks if the dream job becomes reality. Yeah, you'll burn your bridge with that college but so be it since you have to look out for yourself. There are no guarantees with any job. You could be layed off/fired the next day. Just like you can quit any day/time since there are no employment contracts.
Yeah there definitely is always this too... the idea of quitting a job so shortly in for another doesn't sound too great to me karma wise (or something lol), but well, I should probably just suck it up and do it if it comes to that and the CVS or some pharmacy tech position works out in the end.

SMILE: I am for sure filming two games tomorrow and I'm not only being paid for filming, but being paid a decent amount extra for gas and food.

SOMEWHAT TICKED: My back has still not recovered, so standing upright through 2 one and a half hour games is going to be a stamina test. Luckily, they want everything filmed from a designated area with a tripod so I won't be doing a shoulder mount or anything and I'll be able to use the tripod for support.

Smile: SU vs WVU. :D I haven't been this excited watching my alma mater play football since last millennium.

Frown: getting to the last boss in Splatterhouse and then losing my remaining lives.
