Got some lifting in this morning, will have to update on the site later.
I've never been into "excercise" per se, but I like a good weightlifting workout.
Fitocracy
Re: Fitocracy
Suggesting that someone consider a certain diet in conjunction with exercise makes me a fanatic? A lot of people throughout the thread have stated they wanted to lose weight, so I have offered a suggestion. Diet and exercise go hand in hand, and I think that is very relevant to what people are trying to accomplish with this Fitocracy website.Stark wrote:Yeah, I didn't find them hostile, I found them to be not what this thread is about. If this thread was about someone deciding whether they should go vegan or not, then I would say, talk all about the advantages of going primal. Since it is whether or not you want to go and exercise with the rest of us schlubs and not diet choice, you come off as a fanatic.Flake wrote:Yeah. This, kinda.CFFJR wrote: He's probably just trying to stay on track, as diet discussions (and the Paleo diet among them) have been somewhat common topics for arguments in the past few months.

Dieting is indeed very important and should be discussed but that's not what we're talking about in this thread. As I think you are not even using Fitocracy, I don't see how you're not hijacking. However, if you start a thread about dieting you'll probably have a much better opportunity to share what knowledge and experience you have.saturnfan wrote: I wont go into extra detail unless someone wants me too, I don't want to hijack the thread.
Getting back on topic,
I got a couple of props the other day for doing two miles in under 14 minutes. The funny thing is that 10 years ago I was running almost three miles in under 14 minutes.
One thing that logging my exercise is making me realize - somehow, when I wasn't looking, something happened and I wasn't 18 and invincible anymore. Case in point, I get done with those two relatively speedy miles the other day...and walking has been an issue. Tried to go running again last night and was halfway down the street before I realized it wasn't happening.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
Re: Fitocracy
I know I'm not on Fitocracy, but since we were talking about it briefly the other day I figured I'd mention that I started Insanity again today. I'm blaming you guys for getting me "inspired".
I finished the first workout a few minutes ago, and I'm beat dead. I'm gonna be very sore tomorrow.
The first days of this workout are very unpleasant, but once you break through it gets less torturous.

Re: Fitocracy
It certainly takes a hell of a commitment... That's where I broke off the first time I did this a while back. It got to be too much every night. I generally have more time now than I did then, so it should be easier.Stark wrote:I wish I had the time to do this, but I don't.CFFJR wrote:I know I'm not on Fitocracy, but since we were talking about it briefly the other day I figured I'd mention that I started Insanity again today. I'm about to start day two here in a few minutes. I've been stalling.

I just finished a little bit ago, but I'm pretty sure if a doctor had checked me out at the end of it, he would have pronounced me dead.
Just the warm ups are a kick in the ass...

Re: Fitocracy
I had a big work out planned for today.
Then I ate a big ol' bison burger.
Good thing we can't go DOWN in levels, eh?
