So ive had my genesis for a good sixteen years now. Ive gotten to a point with my controllers where the buttons just dont have any action left in them. Parting ways with them is going to be difficult since we've been through so much together, but i guess i have to.
As i shopped around for a new set of controllers ive noticed that their are alot of different genesis controllers.
So my question is: Is there any real difference besides the appearance?
Genesis controllers any difference?

Watch out for the Genny 3 pads, they have 6 on-the-face also, but they just don't feel the same in my hands. You can tell because they have a turbo switch and mode button on the face (not on the right shift)

I just got some wireless Genesis remotes by Akklaim, and they're great! The response time for the games is perfect has Turbo and Slow modes on them. I've gotten up to about 20 feet away and you can still play.
Only downside is you have to keep them pointed at the console for the most part or it won't get the signal. But these are my favorite controllers so far. If you can I'd try to pick up some wireless remotes.
I don't know how I lived without them.

Well that's something! I always figured infared controllers from the 90's were no good.pompeyparsons wrote:I just got some wireless Genesis remotes by Akklaim, and they're great! I felt the same way as you about them. Definitely skeptical, but once I plugged them in and started using them. I'm hooked. If you can pick some up on the cheap I'd give them a go. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.Anayo wrote:

Like I said mine are made by Akklaim. I believe I read somewhere on this forum that there are official Sega released wireless controllers so if anyone has any info on those I'd like to hear about it.
With the 'OG' 6-button controllers, ive noticed some with a blue start button as opposed to the white one. is there any significant difference with them that i should be aware of?Majors wrote:Watch out for the Genny 3 pads, they have 6 on-the-face also, but they just don't feel the same in my hands. I swear the genesis is like a battle mech, its constantly changing and acquiring new parts.
