JPN version features red blood instead of green, a Jason Vorhees-style mask instead of red mask, and an inverted cross instead of giant head for a level boss.

Hmm, well I did have to get used to the timing but it wasn't too bad. It just felt like doing a Street Fighter special to me after a while. I just checked and it's definitely done by pressing Back, Forward, Punch in quick succession. Of course Back and Forward change depending on which way Rick is facing. I was playing on Genesis with the default controls.

no idea man. I literally stood there trying to do it for like 5 mins and never once got it to work.

^Damn. There's no way I could have beaten 3 without it.

as the month dwindles down, I'm having a hard time sticking to Splatterhouse. That might sound funny considering my self-proclaimed love for the series. But I feel like it's because of that -- I've just played all these games so often outside of the TR environment, that it's kind of less exciting as when we do games I'm not so familiar with.

yessir.

I'll most likely play it on PS3 (Sonic's Utlimat Gen Collection), but I'm slightly tempted to play it on DC since I just got the Smash Pack from S1mple and realized it's on there too. But I feel like I heard that the music is fucked on that collection. But still... Sega game on Sega console? Then again, if I beat it on PS3 I wonder if it unlocks anything else? Hmmm.

I finished up Splatterhouse on the PCE this morning. It is hard to go back to playing the 2010 release after playing the excellence that is the original... :?

has anybody tried Wanpaku Graffiti on Famicom yet? It's very easy to emulate. It's an awesome little game with tons of personality. Think of it as Splatterhouse Parodius haha. Anyway, I'd love to hear others' thoughts on this one.
