No actually i wasn't aware of that. I remember i borrowed my buddies old saturn back in the day just to play the original Dragon force. Dont you need a ram backup cart to play it? I seem to recall i had to use my friends to do that. I definitely want to pick one up, its just damn pricy, averaging around 80 bucks it seems for a good copy. I doubt thats the kinda game i could play in Japanese though. RPGs just dont fly for that.
The Saturn has enough internal memory for every game (meaning, unlike the Sega CD, there are no games that REQUIRE it to play the entire game). It is a good idea to buy a memory cart. Just get a Pro Action Replay. It does everything.
Well, the Saturn barely has any internal memory. I totally remember running out of space to save things without a memory cartridge. I'm pretty sure one Dragon Force save is all you can fit on the internal memory, I think it takes up more than half the available space lol.

Then again, I could be completelg wrong. Has the price of Radiant Silvergun been dropping much if at all?
Echo, echo, echo.

Hundreds of games have been released via psn / wii / xbawks download. It isn't affect original release prices. Even official / physical compilation discs don't affect original releases.

There are hundreds of examples, but the one that I think best drives the point home is the Ultimate Shooting Collection (wii), prior to its release the DC Versions of Radirgy / Karous / Chaos Field - combined would run you about $175-200. Now, they run you about $210-230. Meanwhile the USC (wii) can be bought used for under $10 (new for $14.44 shipped on amazon).

In many cases, a download release DRIVES UP the price of the original. Folks pay $10 for the download, fall in love w/the game, and want an original. Thus, they've created an even deeper market for the game.
One day I'll pony up the cash for Radirgy. One day.

I tend to agree, it just reignites lost nostalgia flames/interest which leads to people seeking out the originals. Re-releases have certainly had that effect on me before.

I was just playing a burned copy of Radirgy on the PS2 the other day, and I liked it a lot more than I remember liking it the first time I played. Which version would be best to get? I feel like the PS2 version didn't look as good as the DC version, but I have not compared directly.

Naomi>DC>GCN>PS2>Wii

For price considerations, you might lean toward GCN ($30) vs. DC ($70+ - though it went for like $52 at auction recently).

But I don't have a GameCube. I don't believe my soft modded Wii can play GCN imports. Perhaps I should invest in a modded Gamecube? I just haven't really found many/any GCN games I really want that aren't available on other platforms.

Do you have the newer disc drive Wii's and aren't able to play backup disc, or are you just not sure how to run import disc? If I'm not mistaken Gekko can run any regioned game.

Too new to play backup discs. I haven't tried import discs yet. I plan to once I finally import Xenoblade.

Can I use this Gekko thing on the Wii to play retail GCN imports?

No mention of Bulk Slash? Really? That game is awesome! It's one of the best games on the Saturn, and my personal favorite. The only thing I hate about it are those obnoxious anime girls constantly yelling at you in Japanese, but you can choose to not pick them up. Oh, there is one that will spout out Engrish every now and then (WONDAFU! BEUTAFU! OH MA GA!) and that's pretty funny.

Oh man, I've never heard of this game but it looks rad. The vivid color palette is pretty impressive. Definitely adding this to my future purchase list. There's a lot of imports I missed out as I was still in elementary school when I was gaming on my Saturn.

And is the Engrish (I feel like a bit of a dick using that term) comparable to this?
