Re: Fitocracy
I'm having the, "Hey this is new, this is fun, this is great" thing happening right now. Heres to hoping it sticks. Like many folks, I get excited when I first start to work out more, feel a good burn, feel energized...then you skip it one day, then a week and all of a sudden its like damn, I haven't ran / lifted in 3 months.
Re: Fitocracy

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Re: Fitocracy
Over a year ago I managed to shed over 20lbs (finally reached my ideal weight of 167) using the Insanity program; I highly recommend it to anyone serious about losing weight and toning up. It's great because you can do it all in the comfort of your own home, it takes up very little room and you can see & feel the results.

Re: Fitocracy
My wife and I did Insanity for a while too about a year and half ago. We only did 30 days rather than the full 60 (we got real sick and tired of doing it every night after awhile, particularly since it was during a time when we were busy as hell at work) but we had great results.
I didn't lose much weight, but my muscle increased quite a bit and my endurance skyrocketed, which felt really great.
Insanity busts your ass big time, but I feel like it pays off.
Of course, after all of that I got real lazy and lost everything I had gained.
I've lost a lot of weight in the past few months though as a result of changing my diet, among other things. I'm currently at the lowest weight I've been in many years, and I mean to keep going. I've been planning to start exercising again. This fitocracy thing just might be a great way to do it.

Re: Fitocracy
I've seen the insanity workout, did it exactly 1 day. I have no doubts it works - but who has the time (and will) to keep up with it, once you've toned like that, your body needs that exercise constantly and wow, I know I could never sustain that long term. The best exercise is something you can realistically keep doing factoring in desire, spare time, etc. Then the results might actually last.
Re: Fitocracy
You should be able to now. I'm still figuring out how the stuff works.

Re: Fitocracy
It definitely is insane, but the payoff can be huge. Even if you don't have the time, there is a quick 20 minute session that covers all the major areas. After 3 months straight of Insanity, I naturally cut down on the 40 - 60 mins sessions and worked on doing 20 mins a day, three times a week. Keeping active and maintaining a healthy diet and weight is still realistic, it's just a matter of motivation.mjmjr25 wrote:I've seen the insanity workout, did it exactly 1 day.
