specifically Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec because that's the one i just got (free after buy 2 get 1 at my local shop!). I started simulation mode the other day with some P.O.S. Toyota Sprinter Trueno GT Apex and now i'm upgrading the parts to make it way better and am finding the upgrading/saving money to buy new cars very addictive. i still am pretty mediocre at racing though. haven't figured out how to powerslide effectively yet, but i'm doing a decent job of the "slow in, fast out" method of tight turns.
feel free to throw in any comments about GT3 or any of the other games in the series and what aspects are better/worse about the other games.
for example, GT3 is better than GT4 because it costs 3 dollars used, or in my case free

Powersliding is the most ineffective thing to do in this game unless in rally mode. I feel 3 is very bear to bones, i feel that 4 is alot better as far as the overall game. 3 is alot harder too.
what do you mean by bare bones? what kind of cool features does 4 have that 3 is lacking? if you were poor would you spend the 15-20 dollars to pay for 4 if you already had 3?

yes, first off there is alot more customization in 4 and there are used cars, mor tracks, varients of tracks, and older cars. I just felt that 3 is much more run-o-the-mill as far as features. 4 Also has alot more cars and the cars span more years.
Agreed, 4 is better than 3. However I am still pissed that they took out the complex string track for gt4.
Then again they did replace it with Nurburgring Nordschleife, a much better track.
Get yourself a big heavy rear drive car with loads of power, turn off all driver aids, and just have fun. Man, I could do that for hours.

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.
I just bought GT1 and GT2 on eBay for $16... I've never played a racing simulator and I'm pretty excited about the difficulty. Do the two ps1 titles have any advantages over the later ones? (other than cooler graphics )

Music in the first one rocks, i didnt like 2 that much, oh and the 1st one has a drift mode, which they brought back in GT5. Its alot of fun.
I'm more of an arcadey racer myself.
But I enjoy seeing the advances they make with the series. I can appreciate the fact that they strive to bring realism for those that enjoy it.
Maybe if I was more of a car guy like my brother I'd be really into it, but I just don't have the patience to learn the ins and outs.
