What was the last movie you've seen?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

At the risk of being hated, I've never understood what made The Cable Guy so great. I watched it a couple of times, it didn't do much for me.

Granted, its been a few years, so it might be worth another shot.

You forgot The Mask...

Prepare to get verbally abused by Luke.
 I forgot that he hated it.

It wasn't the best movie I've ever seen, but I think my low expectations allowed me to enjoy it more. I'm a huge Green Lantern fan, and they definitely could have done a better job, but it was entertaining overall.
Only because GL is one the worst films ever. It's not salvageable. It's awful, boring, poorly written, and is an atrocious movie. It's actually an insult to every movie to call GL a movie. It's better than Sucker Punch, barely.

THE CABLE GUY is interesting. THE MASK, a generous 2 out of 4 stars aged horribly, but the aging didn't have much to do with it as the script was just okay to begin with. If Diaz was ever sexy, she peaked during those shoots.

I still wonder what THE CABLE GUY would have been like with Chris Farley starring instead of Jim. Farley was also slated to star as Shrek, but both things went sour when Spade basically forced Farley into Black Sheep. Farley never played a dark comedian, and he had planned on playing the cable guy just as dark Jim. Sorry to quote the C+C music Factory, but it's one of those things that makes you go "Hmmm".

I know one thing that will make it salvageable, its the same thing that made the Fantastic Four movie watchable - Rifftrax. It hasnt been released for GL yet, but it will be.

Sucker Punch I enjoyed. Good soundtrack, soso plot, and big battle scenes.

Sucker Punch shouldn't even be qualified as a movie.

Even Rifftrax couldn't make GL salvageable. The movie makes even omnipotence boring as shit. But perhaps if the crew could stay awake after the first half hour they may something.

But really fbilly? You enjoyed Sucker Punch? I hope you liked it for the chicks, because there was no plot.

It had cute chicks, big robots, explosions, and a good soundtrack. So yeah, I enjoyed it. Was it a good film, no, but neither are Deathwish 3 and Commando. I love my mindless action movies (even if they try to be deep philosophical things that trail off to no where and have subpar endings). If they remade Suckerpunch completely out of the killing robots powered by steam scenes, it would be solid.

^This.

Just because a movie's not a masterpiece doesn't mean you can't get enjoyment out of it.

The world needs stupid action movies. Something that you can watch and turn your mind off. Commando is the best example of all time:

 I loved Commando. Actually, I like most stupid action movies, but Arnold always makes things a little better.
