Ticked:
Dead Island save for Xbox 360 corrupted last night, 25 hours down the drain

Frown:
All progress is not lost, I can new game plus and start where I last was, although, 5 levels lower, with no gear and all the quests uncompleted

Smile:
Restaurant week here in Seattle, time for a nice dinner out with the wife.
If you aren't having a good time, why are you playing?

I can see how that would be irritating to some people, but the opening is so damn awesome that I'm willing to watch the entire thing every play through. I love the TV sequence.

When you do get to play though, it's a blast. The gameplay itself is MGS at it's finest if you ask me, the only personal complaint I can even think of is how the inventory management is a little frustrating to work with.
Second - The story is stupid.
I... I got nothin. It's really stupid. Still, I was able to enjoy it just because it's so ridiculous, and there are some really great moments action wise. It's not like you should go into an MGS game not expecting some really over the top stuff though.

Lastly - The game is designed so linearly.
This I don't agree with so much. Although it is very linear in comparison to the formula the old games would follow, it's still a fairly open world for the first half of the game. PW is way more linear, pretty much as linear as it gets.

Yes but that is so much more forgivable in game with mission based level design.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Ticked me off

Read a thread about bootleg GBA carts at work. Got paranoid, so I checked my games when I got home. Check out Metal Slug Advance:

Damn.. that sucks, dude! Can you recommend a good article to go by about those? I can usually avoid boots by the look of their labels for the most part, but nowadays, it's getting trickier..

Smile: Job interview on Thursday morning for IT Help Desk at Princeton, NJ's Healthcare system.. Great pay, and my buddy's girlfriend/fiance will be my boss..

Not so smile: Hour long commute, 7-day work weeks, and possibility of erratic hours. Last time I worked shift-work, it was working for a chemical plant as a reactor operator 7 days a week, and I only had one weekend off a month. I seriously wanted to go off the deep end.. Nothing is more depressing than driving to work on a summer-weekend's afternoon while people are grilling burgers by the pool.. Here's hoping I can negotiate a good work schedule if I get hired..

So I learned a couple of tricks in the past couple of hours.

- All real GBA carts will say Nintendo near the contacts (you can see it if you tilt the game just right and look into it). The Metal Slug Advance cart had extra long contacts and didn't say Nintendo.
- I typed in the serial number for every GBA game I own into Google (I'm paranoid now!). The serial on my Metal Slug Advance cart is fake. The real serial is AGB-BSME-USA, my cart has AGB-BMAE-USA
- My cart has the wrong ESRB, dead giveaway!
- Once my cart was opened, you can see the problems: the cheap yellow-bordered battery, the sticker on the circuit board. Also, I didn't take a pic of this, but there is some writing in marker on the back of the circuit board.

I'm pissed, but all my other games seem legit.

Some legit GBA carts do have batteries. The colored plastic ring is to prevent the tab on the one side from accidentally shorting to side of the battery.

I highly recommend the entire art style series and X-Scape. there are plenty of other decent ones too. You can see what I thought of the DSWare I have on my backloggery here: http://www.backloggery.com/games.php?us ... nsole=DSiW
First off, you need to get onto the Shop and download Legend of Zelda Four Swords which is free until Feb 2012.

I don't have my DSi XL nearby but the ones that I liked off the top of my head are: Dark Void Zero, Cave Story, Animal Color Cross (picross type game but using colors. Not as good as Picross 3D but it's cheap and not bad). I have a bunch more that I can't think of their names or I haven't played them in depth yet (e.g, Shantae Risky Revenge, Mighty Flip Champs).

I do suggest looking at http://dsiware.nintendolife.com/games to see the list of games and their reviews. Looking at the list myself just jogged my memory on the remaining games that I have:

1001 Crystal Mazes Collection - a puzzle game where you have to move these jewels to a destination area. Very challenging. Recommended if you like these type of puzzle games.

A Fairy Tale - haven't played it yet

Advanced Circuits - another puzzle game that I enjoyed. You have to figure out how to lay tracks to connect every square up. Challenging at times.

Art Style: Boxlife - puzzle game where you need to make boxes. Challenging.

Art Style: Code - played it briefly

Art Style: Pictobits - ditto

Bookworm - a Popcap game where you have to make works out of random letters. Good game.

Castle of Magic - haven't played it

Digger Dan & Kaboom - haven't played it

Dreamwalker - ditto

Mario vs Donkey Kong: Minis March Again! - good. Don't get if you already have the first two DS games.

Mighty Milky Way - haven't played yet

Zenonia - haven't played yet.
