Consolizing Neo-Geo MVS

Post by racketboy »

I've heard a few times that this is possible and that MVS games are much more affordable.
Can someone please educate me?
Is there anyone that could do this hack for a price?
I doubt I would have time or the skill to do this myself.

It's a pretty involved mod. I'm sure you could find out more information on it at http://neo-geo.com/.

A few links I've picked up about it in my travels are http://www.multimods.com/, http://www.neotropolis.net/. Not sure if the links are reputable, but the neo-geo.com forum should point you in the right direction. There's also Digital Press' forum - someone there could point you in the right direction or rig a supergun for you for the right price.

MVS games are much, much more affordable than their AES counterparts. A consolized MVS is the way to go unless you're loaded or want collecting bragging rights.

I know. I'd love to have that Atomiswave setup as well, but I'd have a hard time justifying that price without tripping on a suitcase full of money on the sidewalk.

Just cheat and use a ready made Supergun (ie the Supernova) and buy an MVS motherboard.

I do believe that is point and match gentlemen. Actually it is far from it but it is the easiest option for legit play. Now if you would rather just have arcade controls for a NeorageX box, thats a whole other story.

Got one off craigs list. Looks to be made by neotropolis (2 slot)

I have about 15 games with shock boxes.. looking to get some more soon. The shooters are really fun.. I've been playing Prehistoric Isle a lot lately.

The only problem is now I want a candy cab, or a super-gun.

I've tried contacting D from the neo-geo forums about getting a nice supergun built (his are the best) but he hasn't answered 3 or 4 attempts so I've pretty much given up.

His stuff is *really* nice though:
