I'm gonna have to pick that up. I always liked the Scarlet Spider. Granted, it won't be the same without Ben, but it should still be good. I wonder who's under the mask, and how they're connected to Spider-man?

My first thought was that it would be Marry Jane and when he called the Scarlet Spider "he or she" my jaw dropped. With MJ featured in the last issue of the Amazing Spider-Man and her being the only one that knew all the stuff from before the deal with the devil to erase the marriage and public identity... Marvel wouldn't be that predictable would they?

Awesome! They're adapting JLA Tower of Babel into an animated film. That's the ultimate Batman can kick anyone's ass story! Kevin Conroy is voicing Batman, which is weird because Batman Arkham City was supposed to be his time voicing Batman

Are you sure you aren't confusing this with the claim that Arkham City would be Mark Hamill's last time playing the Joker (which Hamill confirmed isn't the case)?

Anyhow they're making a Dark Knight Returns movie too. Can't wait for that. I'm excited for Batman: Year One to come out next week too.

You could be right. I could have sworn I heard somewhere that the game would be their last performances though

I'm still not sure why Batman: Year One is coming out the same day as Arkham City, but I can't complain. More of a good thing. It's just unusual to see two awesome Batman related things released on the same day

NYCC: The Age of Apocalypse Returns
It's the dawning of the Age of Apocalypse for David Lapham.

17 years after the original Age of Apocalypse crossover, this alternate take on the Marvel Universe still has plenty of fans. The AoA-verse was recently the setting for an arc of Uncanny X-Force. Even more than a decade after the fall of Apocalypse and his regime, the world is still a very dangerous place for Magneto's X-Men.

That means the Age of Apocalypse is still ripe for new stories. While it appears that the AoA version of Nightcrawler will be joining X-Force soon, Marvel has bigger plans in mind. They'll also be launching a new ongoing AoA series in 2012.



The new series will be written by David Lapham (Young Liars) and drawn by Roberto De La Torre (Iron Man: Director of S.H.I.E.L.D.). Readers will get their first taste of the series in next month's Point One anthology issue.

Naturally, the new series will build directly out of the events in Uncanny X-Force. So much so, in fact, that Rick Remender will be writing Uncanny X-Force #19.1 as a springboard for Lapham's series. Look for that issue in January.



The cover for issue #19.1 appears to show the entire team lineup, though only Jean Grey and Sabretooth are immediately identifiable. It appears that Psylocke and Taskmaster (in UDON costume, no less) are also present, along with a character who may be Crossbones or Punisher. Based on the way "The Dark Angel Saga" played out, it's probably safe to assume that Wolverine/Weapon X is the villain of the series.

As for what brings this team together and what their ongoing mission is, we'll have to wait until Point One is released to find out more.

Holy crap this is awesome! I am SOOO onboard for this one. I really hope they don't disappoint me.

FINALLY picked up All Star Westerns 1. Sadly, that Hastings doesn't carry Batman, and they were out of Detective Comics 1, so I picked up a Detective Comics 2.

All Star Westerns starts off good, and sets up the characters. I like where they're going, and how they are mixing in Gotham characters. It might just be me though, but since Arkhum said that the Wayne Brothers were at the party, and all the silver ringed people were there, does that mean Bruce Wayne is descended from a dark past? I call for more twists here, and maybe an ancestor of Jonah in Batman's time?

I also hope that we can get more of Jonah travelling around though. I love continuity, but I also like when Jonah goes off to do his own thing. We need a good mix of both.

I was going through some old Deadpool issues of mine. I think I have most, if not all of the Joe Kelly run and I found this classic bit that really belongs on this particular forum





I'm not a big Marvel guy, as awesome as that universe is. I have to say though, I had fun reading Joe Kelly's Deadpool years ago. Deadpool is reason enough to play the Marvel Ultimate Alliance game too. Deadpool, Spidey and Wolverine were the main Marvel books I think I collected back then, with the occasional X-Men book.

Detective Comics 2 was... out there. Good story, keeps up the suspens, and the villian is interesting. He is also extremely creepy. I'm not sure if he is an established Batman character or not, but I personally would think they should do stories with who they have until they need to make up new guys.

Like the guy who killed people on holidays. I personally see that making some epic stories. Imagine holidays that last a week, and free donut day.
