Last night I dreamt that I got a Japanese cell phone that had a cartridge slot for GB and GBC games. The dream was over before I found out if my wireless carrier could support it

Had a shitty run in with night terrors or something week ago or so that I forgot to share. I'm not really sure what caused the whole ordeal, but this is what happened:

I tried going to sleep around midnight. Was staying at a Super 8 in Virginia. I got about three hours of sleep in before I was woken up by one of my reoccurring explosion/bomb nightmares. Those dreams are very quick, and are always of me somewhere outdoors, or in a room with the window viewable, and an explosion randomly goes off and kills me. It's really loud sounding and I wake up instantaneously, and usually have a nasty feeling of inexplicable dread for about an hour. I feel pretty calm and all, I just have this weird paranoid feeling that I can't shake.

So I start dozing off like 30-45 minutes later, but what seemed like the second I started sleeping I had a nightmare right away. It kept happening over and over for the next few hours, and eventually I just gave up and hit the road. I simply could not sleep no matter how long I tried. I wrote down a lot of the random dream sequences in the morning because I wanted to remember them (usually forget dreams right away). Here's what I wrote down before I left the hotel:

-There's a woman with no clothes on standing next to a stove top. She has no face, and her right arm is missing. Her forearm is the part missing, and the stump is very decayed and rotted looking. Looks very black and moist, there's about an inch or two of rotting skin. She has her arm positioned over a frying pan, and the stump is oozing nasty black liquid. It's gathering in piles and looks like pancakes.

-I'm actually dreaming of the area I'm in right now, just in the bed of the hotel room. It goes from pin drop silent to very noisy in an instant. The noise is several fists pounding against the outside of my door. This dream continues to occur, but there are variations. Sometimes the noise is a really loud and jarring sound that I can only describe as smashing a bowling ball on a pile of glass. Sometimes the door is smashed open by something but nothing ever comes in the room. This dream is very irritating.

-Everything is blackness, but there are two eyes staring at me (no head or face). They aren't blinking, but they appear to be moving a little bit.

- I keep hearing really loud random shouts. They're indecipherable, but sound human. This is just an auditory dream and kind of feels like an auditory hallucination.

-I'm in a strange, unfamiliar area. I'm on the floor with my girlfriend and someone that I went to High School with. I haven't talked to him in years. It becomes apparent that he is dating my girlfriend, but I am too, and have no problem with it. We leave the room and go walking around, and we're in some building holding a High School re-union. (One of the attendees is UFO Robo Grendizer in UFO form. It's just floating around the hallways and can fit in a small building. How bizarre.)

Last night I had a dream that I was trying to smoke, but it was really difficult because my lungs were full of water and little worms. After that, I was standing in the yard of my childhood home. I quickly realized that a group of three kids was stealing dragon eggs from my house, so I went and grabbed some sort of gardening tool to stop them (it was a stick with three flat spikes on the end perpendicular to the shaft, in the dream I referred to it as a hoe). I killed the kids with the tool, but they dropped the eggs and they all broke and cracked. The last thing I thought was "well at least they didn't get them".

@brunoafh: I've had bad dreams all my life but only one case that I'd call a night terror, and it really sounds like the explosion thing you kind of described. Only it was like myself, friends and family gathered around in a pitch black void and then this twister thing just sucked everyone up one by one, it was the loudest and weirdest noise I've ever heard (in a dream), like a monstrous scream. It was like the universe was ending or something and right when I got "sucked in" at the end, I woke up and had to run to turn my lights on. Couldn't sleep for shit that night after that, I've never been that scared from a dream before.

Okay, don't know if I should make a topic about this or not, I think we had one recently kind of on weird sleeping or something...

But over the last month or two I've suddenly been having very weird cases of dreams or nightmares and instances where I think I'm awake or something but I'm not. This is almost always triggered when I take a nap or only sleep 2-4 hours, I've been waking up earlier lately so sometimes I power nap mid day if I didn't get a full nights worth of rest, and then this commonly happens as of now.

Today it even felt like I was having sex in one part of my dreams, just to randomly throw that one out there, like I could practically feel it. You'd think that'd be fantastic but no, it was just weird as crap to me and then from there, today, it felt like it took me 10 or so times to truly wake up. It was like I was failing to completely come to or something, or was another severe case of the weird dream within a dream thing. It's like I was very aware of being in a dream, or wanting to wake up, but I couldn't. Finally when I did, I jumped out of bed right away easily and everything, but what the hell gives here...

This keeps happening lately and it's starting to weird me out a little. Another time it happened that I clearly remember, I got up and moved over to the opposite side of my bed. It was like I was aware, but not fully "there" at the same time, as it then felt like it took me 5-10 minutes for my body and mind to completely wake up and for me to be able to move.

Just what the fuck? Am I having like accidental lucid dreams? Sleep paralysis? I am on no illegal drugs or anything weird like that, although I did recently switch from Xanax XR to regular Xanax, and it seriously feels like it's kind of started up ever since that happened. But I remember the second case mentioned above this paragraph there happened when I was regularly taking the XR. Other than that I'm completely clueless. I haven't been very stressed lately and my anxiety hasn't been very extreme (even not taking the Xanax regularly now), so yeah... no idea what's going on here.

Am I playing too much Stalker? ... lol.

Reminds me of that one time I had a wet dream when I was still a teenager. I was standing at the bottom of a narrow stairway spanking my monkey. The moment I came my mother yelled from upstairs saying dinner was ready. There was a small sink where I was standing, so I thought I'd just use that to take care of things. But it just wouldn't stop! The sink filled up in seconds and my mom just kept on shouting to come up and asking what was taking me so long. I yelled back I was going to be up in a second, but the jizz already reached my waste. Stressed the Hell out of me. Then I woke up and found myself in a sticky situation. Eww...

And yeah I know. I'm not big on meds of any sort, but things got pretty bad over the last two years. If I can get a good job though soon (and things are looking up on that) and keep busy, I can probably ween off of it pretty easily in time and be normal again.

It's not that bad so long as it's taken in moderate doses. I've got a few stories about high school when I took a little too much and did some pretty fucked up things blacked out.
