Re: Together Retro: Splatterhouse
I took the coward's way out by using my game genie to beat SH 3 on Genesis. I tried and tried without it but I became so frustrated with it that I couldn't take it anymore and I wanted to see the GOOD ending.
I am addicted to video games, especially retro gaming from my era. I have: NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Gameboy, GBA, Wii, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, Xbox, and Xbox 360. I have probably over 1,000 games in total for all these systems combined. Yes, I need help and I wouldn't have it any other way! This is my passion and hey my wife still loves me!!

Get good at the spin kicks, and always approach enemies at an angle. Anytime I tried going at them from their horizontal plane they would hit me. You can even get close enough to grapple them without getting hurt. (which is pretty much required for a couple bosses) The spin kick knocks enemies down and makes you invincible for a few seconds, and is damn near required to beat levels within the time limits.noiseredux wrote:I cannot beat level 4 of Splatterhouse 3. It sucks. Everytime I get up to the boss, and I feel like if I had all 3 lives, I'd probably beat him. But I'm usually down one life and have like half of the second. Sigh.

Re: Together Retro: Splatterhouse
thanks for the tip. I'll work on the spin kick (it's B + C, right?)
Re: Together Retro: Splatterhouse
It's back, forward, punch I believe. The timing seemed a little odd to me, so it took some practice.noiseredux wrote:thanks for the tip. I'll work on the spin kick (it's B + C, right?)

gamefaqs wrote:BACK, FORWARD, (C) Spin Kick. This is by far the most useful move in the
game. This will be used more than you'd like after a while, as it has the
strength of 2 punch combos, is easily done, knocks guys down, and provides
invincibility for 5 seconds. This allows you to kill most lower baddies in
one move, often in pairs. Good for keeping time.
Re: Together Retro: Splatterhouse
^Yep, that's pretty much dead on. I used the move constantly to get through stage 4 & 5. Didn't seem like the invincibility lasted as long as 5 seconds to me though.
Re: Together Retro: Splatterhouse
I was just looking through the instruction book, and it says you have to press back, forward, B (punch default), and hit them all in succession within 1 second.noiseredux wrote:gamefaqs wrote:BACK, FORWARD, (C) Spin Kick. This is by far the most useful move in the

Re: Together Retro: Splatterhouse
I picked up the new Splatterhouse on my Xbox360 for 20 bucks used the other day. I had heard it wasn't terribly great but when I saw it had the other 3 games on it unlockable I figured it was well worth it.
I really am enjoying the new Splatterhouse thus far. Yeah, there really isnt a lot of depth to the game play and its just running around and killing while occationally doing a little platforming, but I am having a blast. I just got laid off and over the top violence and a lot of button mashing is exactly what I need right now!

Re: Together Retro: Splatterhouse
A bonus to the first 3 SH games as unlockables is that they give you the uncensored Japanese arcade version of the 1st SH and not the TG-16 version! Not that there's a real difference in gameplay between the two versions as far as I could tell but I just prefer the Japanese version.

Thats cool, I didn't know that. It will be interesting to compare the two as I've played the TG-16 version before.Evildeadmanwalking77 wrote:A bonus to the first 3 SH games as unlockables is that they give you the uncensored Japanese arcade version of the 1st SH and not the TG-16 version!
