so i picked up a saturn today. From an old collector, it was boxed and they had just but a new battery in it. pretty good condition. Its one of the few consoles i never owned. Back in the day i had a few friends that had them so i just played the games at their houses.
I tried to pick some games up on ebay but lost out on 2 that were system sellers to me (Dragon force, and shining force III) the 3rd major system seller was Guardian heroes. The only thing is, im not sure if its worth getting now or later. If im not mistaken they will be releasing it very soon on xbox live and PSN. WHen they did that with Suikoden the price dropped very quickly on ebay and other sites. You can get a good copy for about 20 bucks these days.
I was just wondering if you guys thought the same thing would happen with guardian heres. It looks like it goes for roughly 60 bucks on ebay or so. Would it be better to wait a few months in hope of a price drop?
Anyway I need to look at the games listed here as gems and stuff to see what im gonna get. Anyone have any must have suggestions i may have missed? I really want panser dragoon saga, but im not paying 200 bucks + for it o_O
I've picked up so far:
Albert odyssey (havent played this but it looked really good from the videos i saw)
Shining the holy ark
Legend of Oasis
Nights into dreams w box contoller, ect
Games i lost out on.. they seem expensive:
Shining force III
Dragon force (the main system seller for me. I borrowed a friends system like twice to play this game)
2 others i was looking at but needed to read some more reviews were
Shining Wisdom, and Dark Savior.. anyone got any opinions on those?
any suggestions are welcome. I love RPG's obviously =P but a good beat em up or shooter is awesome too

i think guardian heroes will drop in price considering its going to get a console release. im watching the prices for guardian heroes aswell and when i drops to 30ish, im nabbin one hopefully. ebay is a tricky thing, you have to eye those prices daily on there and i hate doing that, but considering the price drops for ff7, parappa the rappa, vandal hearts 2 and others, GH will soon follow. wish us both luck, lol

I have both games, and found Dark Savior an enjoyable Adventure game. You can read my review here. It's definitely worth picking up if you're into those kinds of games, because it can be found quite easily and cheaply.
Shining Wisdom is generally more expensive. I haven't played it a whole lot, but what I have played of it, it seems like a mediocre, generic Zelda clone. It didn't do much for me anyways.

does your saturn have round or oval buttons, if it has the round buttons it is really easy to install a modchip. you should and burn and play panzer dragoon saga and radiant silvergun they are amazing. also i dont know if you are in to shmups or not but there are a ton to check out on the saturn. also i suggest shinobi legions its not too pricy it gets alot of hate but i think its one of the best shinobi games.

Darius Gaiden is a good introduction to Saturn shooters, it got a western release and wasn't too expensive. Three Dirty Dwarves is a fairly decent 2D beat-em-up. Die Hard Arcade is pretty awesome too, if a bit clunky. Beat-em-ups and RPGs are easily my weak points in knowledge so I'm sure there are some others besides those.

After playing the game for the first time via a backup, I can say Guardian Heroes is worth a buy. Great game.

Shining Wisdom isn't worth it unless you're aiming to collect all the Shining or Working Designs games. It's a pretty mediocre game paired with a really annoying control system.
Panzer Dragoon and Panzer Dragoon II: Zwei are both fantastic, affordable rail shooters. Burning Rangers is a bit costly, but a really fun 3D game with cool anime designs. Magic Knight Rayearth is on the expensive side, and the easy side, but is also a lot of fun if you like action-adventure titles like Zelda.
The Saturn version of Earthworm Jim 2 is also awesome.

Re: Saturn game suggestions? and Guardian heroes? now or later
I think anyone envisioning a major price drop for Guardian Heroes is foolish. Only collectors pay $80+ for it. The fact that there's an HD download only version on XBLA will do very little to lower the collectors value of a Saturn game.
Then again, I could be completelg wrong. Has the price of Radiant Silvergun been dropping much if at all?

I don't know how anyone can afford Saturn games. I've had a Saturn for about a year and have 2 games lol.
